Fall 13 Admissions?

Has anyone heard back from the Beach? If so, pleaseu post your stats.

Thanks

I don’t think they are sending acceptances until February. At least that what my emails from them say…

What are your guys stats and majors?? And is waiting so long making you guys crazy! I just took my ACT in December so those scores just got done. I hope I get in!

My Stats:
Theatre Major
Male
African American
Out of State
ACT - 24
CSU GPA - 3.85
High School GPA - 3.37
Also AP and Honors Courses, with a 3 on the AP US Test

Also does anyone know if the right place to send application corrections is es-admit@csulb.edu cause I had a few but I never got any type of confirmation back so I was curious if they recieved it.

I have not heard back from them either, but I will be a transfer to the FEA department and will have to go through a portfolio/interview process-but I’m not sure if we find out later than the freshman.

I also had a few application corrections and emailed the same address you gave. I didn’t hear back from them either :frowning: Good luck!

I just got rejected today
Pre med
3.714
out of state
60 transferable credits at ma state school.
This budget crisis is horrid!!!

I’m sorry you didn’t get in. A transfer with 3.7 is a pretty strong application - im sure you will get in somewhere.

As with most CSUs, Long Beach got burried in applications this year. CSULB received more applications than any other CSU again this year. They got more than 55,000 freshman applications and will issue a little more than 15000 acceptances. I also understand they got more than 20k transfer applicants and will admit around 6k. They routinely have one of the lowest acceptance rates of any CSU. Long Beach only has seats/parking/bathrooms/etc for about 35k students. There simply isn’t space for all the interested, qualified applicants

On the budget front, CA is flush right now. The state’s revenue was $5B ahead of plan for January.
[California sees a revenue bump after tax changes - State Budget - The Sacramento Bee](http://www.sacbee.com/2013/01/23/5134032/california-sees-a-revenue-bump.html)

The passage of prop 30 ensured a solid funding level for CSU for the next several years. Schools (CSU and UC) are admitting to their physical capacity.

At the same time - Gov Perry from Texas is airing ads all over California promoting Texas as a better place to live and do business - in large part due to CA’s high tax rates.

Accepted. First year freshman.
3.4 gpa
1960 SAT
28 ACT
100+ hours community service

@NCalRent,

I am sure the surge in the number of applications is CSU and UC system wide and not just at Long Beach. LB just gets more because they have a larger capacity. I keep hearing about the record numbers and sometimes it sounds a bit discouraging. I hope these stats don’t discourage potential students from applying. Their standards are still relatively low compared to UCs and higher ranked CSUs. I just got in with a 3.0gpa and a 950/ 1600 on my SATs. If you’re an average high school student like me, you still have a chance.

I’m not even receiving e-mails from them, at least not from their supplemental application… this wait is agonizing.

CSULBHopeful

Congrats on your admission! Are you in the local service area?

My son applied as an Econ major the first week and is still waiting. He’s got a 3.15 and 1230/1600 SAT. We checked his status this morning. They say he meets the CSU requirements and is in the competitive round. That’s better than a No but, not as good as a Yes.

As you’d guess we are in N California.

He heard back quickly from Sonoma and UOP. Chico took a little longer. Though he’s not spent any time there, he says he wants to go to school in SoCal. Still anxiously awaiting LB, SLO and SDSU. SLO and SDSU seem unlikely so, LB is his best hope.

Best of luck!
