We called Long Beach Admissions today and were informed his major (Econ) would not send out notices until late April. In the meantime, on-campus housing is filling up. (they started taking deposits 3/1) We can’t reserve a place until he’s accepted or waitlisted.

Other campuses are also already accepting housing and filling up too.

The place ain’t that great.

We plan to commit elsewhere. Probably Chico

@NCalRent
I called today and they said they would be out on the 1st. I said “Monday”? they said “no, Monday is a holiday but it would be on the 1st”…Monday IS the 1st…They seem a little messed up. they told me that they got 80,000 applications and they were still going
thru them. I told them that UCLA got 80,000 also and that they had released their decisions last week. I agree with your previous post. I am getting turned off too.

GOOD LUCK ON THOSE WAITING!!! KEEP YOUR HOPES UP!!!

Anyone know when the last day for admittance is? I admit that I turned my application like 2 days before the deadline, but man, I am SO worried. I got rejected by the two UC’s I applied to, and I got into a private school that I really like, but it’s expensive. I put undeclared as my major for CSULB. I thought, I’d be a shoe in since my GPA is 4.1 weighted, and unweighted it’s a 3.7. My SAT score was kind of bad, though. Let’s just say it’s over a 1300. >_>

I took quite a bit of honors classes and AP classes as well.

I got waitlisted. Fingers crossed that CSULB will admit me in late May, though. Sigh, my life. x_x Am I not even good enough for this school? Should I apply to community college?

@wonderboy nice! I wish I had applied there because my top school was cal poly and I didn’t get in there, so cal poly Pomona would’ve been an excellent option also. Long beach is also a pretty good option, and I like that the csus have hands-on learning. Good luck wherever you end up :)

Does anyone know if were going to receive the actual acceptace letter (tangible) in the mail?? On their site it says were supposed to get a “Welcome kit” explaining registration, soar info. And admitted student reply, but I committed through mycsulb…

If you are waitlisted, it is time for plan B.

My son was waitlisted last week. After a campus tour last week, we chatted with a woman in Admissions. She couldn’t access his specific status or place on the list but, did say, it is unlikely he will get in. She noted the wait list success rate varies widely by major and year to year. There are lots of external factors they can’t control and neither can you.

Community college is not the only option. There are schools that are still accepting applications for the fall term. A bunch of privates and it looks like Oregon State and University of Nevada Reno are among them.

I got accepted to CSULB last week, and officially accepted the admittance just yesterday. Hope to see the rest of y’all there :)
