Sweet, thanks.

Thanks TN!

Anyone know when we get our Net IDs?

probably in april

Yeah, thanks, TN. The initiation begins...

Do NetIDs come at the same time or earlier than our e-mail addresses? Because the latter won't come until late summer.

I thought NetIDs were soon (around May)? To add to the questions:
- Does Pton give student cards (like business cards)?
- When is roomate selection and dorm choice made?

Gianievve, do you mean cards as in student IDs? 'cause we will have those. And housing/roommate forms come in May or early June, if I remember correctly what a friend told me, and we'll find out what college we're in and who our roommates are in mid-July. So long, so long!

more importantly, when do u get ur college emails so u can set up a facebook account??!!??

Phil's friends info sounds accurate. I think those will be the dates - a long wait indeed but also not that far away :)

By student cards I mean business cards with the Princeton University logo and the student's email address, phone number, contact details etc. exactly like a business card. Are those only given to students who participate in exchange/study abroad? Do you have to order them? or will you automatically get a set of say 100 business cards?

crap, i'm going to europe on may 30th and won't be back until july....i hope i get the forms before then.

btw, are you guys gonna request substance free rooms? i hear that those rooms will be next year's best.

Yeah, I'm doing substance-free. I hope I get it, since I'm not just doing it so I can get a nice room... And bokonon, you're going to have a crapload of forms waiting for you when you get back unless you have your parents mail them to you or whatever. I mean...a lot. So yeah, have fun when you get back, haha. We get forms all throughout the summer for all kinds of stuff.

Slim, like I said, we won't get e-mails until the latter part of summer (late July/early August). So yeah, no facebook for a while :(

And gianievve, I've never heard of that kind of card before. Hmmm...anyone have an answer to this one?

UCLA is the only school ive been accepted to that provides emails upon receipt of your statement of intent to register....im really tempted to just send in my SIR already, even though UCLA is not one of my top few choices- just for that damn email address! :p

ugh, that won't be a nice welcome home present. or will it? ;)

I have an idea. Why don't we sign a contract with Princeton saying that, in return for an early email address, we will work on swaying RD admits to come to Pton. We get email addresses, the school gets an upped yield, and the RD admits are educated as to why Princeton is the best undergrad institution in the world. It's win-win!

By the way, phil, I'm also signing up for substance-free housing, and not just for the nicer real estate.

couldn't you guys just not keep substances in your room and it would be the same thing? i mean if lets say u don't get substance free housing, will u be upset?

pegdiver, one foreseeable problem would be the dorm smelling like cigarette smoke regardless of whether or not i smoke.

do a lot of students smoke? i had the impression that the substance free dorms were basically to keep parties/alcohol out of dorms where students wanted it to be more peaceful.

Haha, christopher. Nice thinking. Then again, we already kinda do that around here on CC. It's about time for us to get paid for the work we do! :) Nice on the substance-free too.

Smoking is banned now in dorms, anyhow. So that shouldn't be a problem (knock on wood; how naive am I, haha).

And peg, sometimes you just don't want to even have that stuff in your living environment period (which includes not only your room or common room, but your entryway or floor as well). I think someone put it best when they said in substance-free, you can go to the party if you want, but the party can't come to you. I won't be upset if I don't get it, per se, but I won't be particularly thrilled either.

Haha, I like that, Phil.
