Is there anyone else applying to Hamilton? I applied ED and decisions should be in by December 15th.

i applied ED I

Good luck- hope we both are accepted!

ya im kinda freaking out but whatever hahahaha i talked to the baseball coach and he said i have 50/50 chance which is pretty good.

chances are supposed to increase fairly dramatically if you apply ED. I'm probably in the 50/50 range too

ya thats what i heard too. my grades an act scores just fit hamilton's profile; the coach is pushing for me and my ecs are pretty good. i think my essays were pretty good too. 13 more days!

the wait is killing me!

I'm curious, what stood out about Hamilton that made both of you choose to apply ED? It's a fantastic school

small school, div III baseball, east coast stuff like that. its one of those "very selective" colleges that is a little easier to get into than some others

It fit the mold I was looking for in that it was a small LAC with excellant programs and a fantastic reputation. They also have a dynamic jazz program with very cool professors, so that was a plus.

Are you guys more crunch or prep? The light side or the dark side of campus???? I wish you both the best of luck! Do you guys really think only to college confidential kids applied? Such a quiet forum!

Its strange that only two of us applied early...or at least two "college confidential people" hahah if you don't get into Hamilton what other colleges are on your list?

The light side of campus is gorgeous but the dark side is SO different. I'm not feeling the industrial vibes there as much. It's still okay, though.
I've seen other kids applying regular decision on college confidential but Gurgie is the only other person I've seen going ED. It's really peculiar.

I've got a few other options if not accepted:

U. of Richmond
Rhodes
Vanderbilt
Bucknell
Holy Cross
Kenyon
Gettysburg
Susquehanna

what else are you looking at?

Trinity (Conn.)
Wheaton (Mass.)
Pitzer
Occidental
Gettysburg
Dickinson
Denison
Franklin and Marshall

Gurgie -- What state are you from? It's amazing the overlap in the schools students select.

California

Many overlaps! My daughter has U of Richmond as well as Bucknell, similar to HMC and Trinity and Occidental from Gurgie's list. I agree with you, HMC re: the light side, so pretty. I hear the Kirkland side is a good place to go hide and study when you want to get some work done. Looks like you both have great lists.

We live in MI. My D looked at Trinity, Franklin and Marshall, Denison, Wooster, Pitzer, Colorado, Lehigh, Rhodes, Bucknell and CMU. She has spent much time at UM and MSU and ruled both of them out based on size.

I think she likes Hamilton/Pitzer best. No really she liked Pomona but the odds of getting in are great. She probably will not apply.

ya Pomona is pretty much impossible Pitzer is much easier. I'm done with my other apps i just hope I get into Hamilton so I can be done by Christmas haha

^ same. The whole process is taxing
