***?? i dont understand the gpa and sat stats on this, theyre obviously not right since LA last yr was like 2010 and 4.1

The posted data represent the average values of those who APPLY to the stated schools. These values are NOT the averages for those offered admission to the stated schools.

Overall applicant pool

Go up and re-read the post it says pool. The point is clear. This is the average of who applied to the various UC's this year.

I wouldn't read too much into the average applicant stats. Its the average admitted stats that is a more "telling" story.

For example, I looked at 2006, 2005 and 2004 applicants and admitted students. UCD generally had higher stats than UCI for applicants. However, for admitted students, UCI had higher stats than UCD.

But overall, it still is the same, UCB and UCLA are competitively similar, and so is UCD/UCI/UCSB. This really hasnt changed too much over the years.

I looked at the 2006 admissions stats, too. I preferred looking at the applicant pool data for this year, though. :D

LOL.

It will be an interesting year for UCD, UCI and UCSD. All of them accepted too many applicants last year, so I imagine they will be tightening things up this year, particularly UCD since they recieve a large increase in apps.

okay so now I do not feel so bad. At least she is above the median that applied at all the schools. I guess she does have a chance

"The posted data represent the average values of those who APPLY to the stated schools. These values are NOT the averages for those offered admission to the stated schools."

It doesn't even matter about who is offered admission, in the end it is about who accepts the offer.
