Happy planning! :D

oh great. i now have an answer to worst thing about ucla: planning, getting into classes, finding a right schedule.

i have some ideas but i cant say anything until enrollment begins and what fills up/not.

I love planning!! :P

any tips on the best way to schedule your classes?
so far im thinking of chem20a and multivariable calc (i forgot what math that is)

phew, so i got really good enrollment times. but im going to avoid my compulsive planning of the last 3 quarters. no more first, second, and third choice schedules. ill make that list the day i enroll first pass.

ps: does anyone know if you have to take a placement exam to enroll in langauge classes? like if i've never takne a language, can i just go into level 1 ?

silly101: It's Math 32A. In regards to planning your courses, you can use the Course Planner option on MyUCLA. You select either the Optimizer choice, which makes up schedules for you based upon which classes you choose, or you can choose specific times for courses with the other option. Which orientation session are you going to? A few days before your session, go ahead and look up the university requirements (writing requirements, foreign language (maybe?) and GE requirements particular to your college - i.e. college of letters and science or college of engineering based upon your choosing 20A and 32A). Look up your lower-division requirements too. Then, go ahead and plan your schedule. Freshmen are usually advised to take two major requirements and one "easy GE" for their first quarter here. You should definitely make up a few schedule options before your orientation session because it becomes very hectic if you don't have a laptop or access to a computer to make your schedule and so are forced to look up at ALL of the printed pages of what's offered fall quarter. That, and you can tune out during most of orientation and you know, be cool cuz you know all this stuff.

lol. i got middle-of-the-road times for priority/first/second. nothing great, nothing horrible, so i'm happy :)

GREAT!! THANK YOU LIYANA YOU ARE SO AMAZING. THANKSALOTOH REALLLY...

awwwww! thanks emmeline :D

Wow, I hope I get the classes.

i've put in all of the classes that it's recommended i take and i get zero schedules....what should i do?

don't use the optimizer function... use the "one by one", it's a lot easier and less confusing (for me anyway).

Woohoo, 7/2/07! Perfect schedule (or so I hope), here I come!

Wow... I don't know what I did to deserve my times, but I'm happy

I always get crappy times :(

thanks Emmeline!

I love planning too! :D

Yeah I love planning too. My roommate thinks I'm psychotic about it...

On the class planner, what is 071? Do I want to select that or 07F?
