Fall 2008 - EECS Graduate Admissions

To LFCDore: I meant computer science, from Yale and UPenn

Brown computer science also sent their decisions this week.

Im an applicant from india and am very curious to know why purdue doesnt seem to be on any of your lists of schools. How good is purdue compared to the other top schools? Ive applied to CMU, MIT, U wash, UIUC, UW-madison, gatech, UT texas and purdue and have as yet got a reject from u wash(GRE verbal 510 and A-4.0) and an accept from purdue that didnt need the GRE. Please give me your opinions about purdue CS MS/PhD.

Okay, I called them today and U WASH EE decisions are out but they wont tell them over phone. Letters have been sent on 23rd and emails will be sent out this week. Good luck everyone and dont forget to post ur results here. I am international so I dont know how long it will be before I can get the letter in case I have been sent one.

I asked brown and they told that "the decisions are out this week, you will get it soon". As I know, brown CS usually sent rejections through mails, so probably this is another rejection. :( Really need an offer to cmft myself.

From gradcafe, I saw many acceptance were given in Feb from columbia, cornell, and it was also true for year 06, 07. Do they still send offers in March?

Anyone like to share his or her admission information with us?

Hi guys, here are my admission results.

EE/CE MS applicant:

Accepted:
Univ. Washington - RA
USC - no word on funding
Columbia - funding information to come

Rejected:
Berkeley :(
MIT

Good luck everyone!

Hi Tasteomycheese

When and how did u hear from Univ of Washinton? Did u apply for EE there?

I first heard from my Prof, that was about 3 weeks ago. I received the written notice a few days ago. I did apply to the EE department.

Congratulations! R u gonna join UW or waiting for some other results? What area of EE r u into?

I'm planning to go into Embedded Systems/VLSI. I'll most likely choose UW, depending on Columbia's funding package.

Interesting fields. I have some experience in Embedded myself although I will be in signal processing.

How is the UW RA funding package? The website says RA'a make 1972 a month, thats around 24000. Is urs similar? I am waiting for a notification myself. When was ur UW admission letter dated? It sucks that they dont send emails, I am international and it might take several weeks for the snail mail to reach me.

The EE RA's make $1972 a month + tuition waiver + health insurance. I believe the letters were sent out at the beginning of this week, so you'll likely have to hold on for a while longer.

Good luck!

Congrats, tasteomycheese, all the univ. are good. You are fantastic :)

Posted my results on another thread...copying them here as well
