Fall 2009 acceptance letters

Anybody receive a letter of acceptance yet and did it show any kind of scholarship or grant aid, etc?

D rec'd package in the mail over the weekend and there was no mention of scholarship/financial aid; however, regional adcom mentioned something in an email re: potential scholarship so it seems you might be finding out about scholarships at a later date.

romanempire- sounds like i am in the same situation as you are. Haven't gotten my packet yet, accepted on 1/13 via webadvisor. I am assuming mine will reach me tomorrow, considering the holiday interference as well as the fact I live in Seattle! I want that packet! AH!!

Muhlissa/romanempire, i'm waiting for my packet too! I live in northern California so I assumed it would get to me faster...although I did get accepted at a later date. Hopefully our letters come this week! I'm dying to open it and frame the acceptance on my wall (hahah i'm just so happy!) =)

Last year when my son was accepted, he received his letter offering a merit scholarship about a week to 10 days after the acceptance letter arrived.

so i am absolutely dieing here hoping to find out if im in!
i read on a bog that last year applicants (who auditioned in any way) found out around January 23rd

anyone know how many people about get accepted into the preforming arts school?

Yay! My packet came today! I am oh so excited!

Cazzie, I auditioned for the dance department on Oct. 24th and I got accepted last thursday online- however, my friend at school who auditioned on the same day is still decision pending. I don't really know what this implies, but i'm guessing that the admissions office probably din't work during the weekend and Monday (yesterday). I'm sure your file is almost done!

Muhlissa, grats on the packet! =) I'm still waiting for mine, but hopefully it'll come tomorrow, or at least soon!

EA kids, have you gotten your scholarship letters yet? How long did it take?

has anyone who applied to Dodge for a film/tv related program heard yet? I applied to film studies, still says decision pending.

I received a letter today stating that I have been accepted into the screenwriting program(yea) but there is no mention of any potential scholarship money, etc. Anyone have any idea when Chapman notifies the students?

apparently they send out scholarship letters a couple weeks after acceptance letters...or it seemed like that from reading last years posts.

I applied for film production too and haven't heard yet. I think someone told me once that we'd hear by the end of February. that seems so far away!
also, I never received my login/password for WebAdvisor. would it even be worth trying to get it now or should I just wait for a letter to come in the mail?

webadivsor will tell you a few days earlier so yes its kinda worth it.
don't freak out EA people if you get a "we want to see your fall grades then decide" type letter, I got that letter & still ended up getting in & getting the top scholarship. I also found out weeks after most did.

thanks shineovershadows,
the thing is, i sent in a tape and i heard that it takes a month just for them to get to it!
can someone please tell me that this information is false!
they need to tell me before they get to the regular decisions right, even if i am wait listed?

Embock, I talked to a lot of people who applied to Chapman and they, like you and me, never got letters regarding webadvisor logins either. I got mine by calling the WebAdvisor help desk, but you can also get it by emailing the Office of Admissions. Its definitely worth it because I got my result online over a week before my letter arrived!

Cazzie, this past weekend I met a bunch of people who auditioned live and still hadn't heard yet...the only thing I can think of is that when I went to one of the admissions information thingies the guy said that people who apply early are either accepted or deferred to regular decision. If you send in a tape it might be the same thing as film production majors who've sent in videos. They're not expected to hear results until like February/March! If you're super concerned maybe call or email the drama department and just ask if they received your tape so at least you know. My high school counselors didn't recommend calling the admissions office though...Anyway good luck! I hope you hear soon!

Good luck everyone, hope to see you guys at Orientation! :)

thanks so much!

Got letter in mail today~!

do they send out admission decisions alphabetically?? i still haven't received anything and webadvisor says everything was received in November..

jt2791, they actually go through decisions based on where you were in the pile. I applied early action on November 1st, so I heard back rather quickly. However, that being said, that was mainly because I was applying for a Graphic Design major and had my interview with the Art Dept on November 15th- which was relatively early. It might be taking longer based on what you are applying for. Dodge and the Dance department take longer to process, especially if you only had an audition recently! :) Hang in there! It's coming!
