Fall 2009 acceptance letters

How soon would the update be? Within the next week?

Usually a couple of days, no more than a week - so it could update Friday or Monday. I doubt if it will update over the weekend.

What day did it say that on the webadvisor?

It said that my status was "as of 12/10/2008"
Now it won't let me log in!

Be patient. I know it is incredibly hard to wait. You will see the response online at webadvisor before you get a letter, so keep checking there, first.

Okay, I'll attempt to relax. Thanks for all of your help. :)

Nagooya,

Where else did you apply?

What major?

My WebAdvisor status says 'file complete, decision pending.' Am I completely screwed? I applied for the Creative Writing major. I understand if it takes a while to get my decision, though, because I applied on the day of the deadline.

Is anyone else out there in my boat?

No, you are still in the game.

Word is that applications have been up at most colleges. Just be patient and wait. You should hear, soon.

I have told another poster, Nagooya, that advice just in the last day or so.

When my son heard, last year, this info was up for a few days before a decision was mailed out. He heard on webadvisor before getting an envelope from the school.

USC is my first choice school. I applied for Business but I want to apply for the "Business with an Emphasis in Cinematic Arts" (BCA) major. I love USC. I think I have a pretty good chance there, too.

I'm really worried..

My status is "application incomplete"! However, it says it's as of december - and I'm sure I sent everything they were missing weeks ago.

Should I call them on monday?

Yes.

They may be missing a transcript or a recommendation. This happened to my son, and once he made a phone call, they were able to match up a stray transcript with his application. They actually located it, while he was on the phone with him.

Definitely follow up via phone.

Thank you for the quick response!

I hope it won't be too late by then.

Ugh! This wait is killing me. March can't come soon enough.

I looked at all of my school forms on the WebAdvisor. The SAT section says 'Accepted' for my top scores and my SAT2s, as well as on my letters and things. Does this mean anything good, or am I still in acceptance limbo?

cooperhikari- It basically means that that is the score that they are going to be looking at when making your acceptance decision. You will know if you get accepted once your Application decision changes from "Decision Pending".

Best of luck to you! Hope to see you at Chapman this upcoming fall! :) Don't stress out too much...I was a ticking time bomb while I was waiting for my response during winter break, and it doesn't do any good to stress!

Has anyone been accepted or rejected who applied for Film Production? I thought we were supposed to hear in the middle of the month. The anticipation is killing me!

Another thing - some people don't submit SAT II's, if the college doesn't "ask" for them. Chapman is a school that may offer some extra class waivers if you submit them, if accepted.

Here is the page where you can see the information on what classes might be waived if your CR or Math SAT or SAT II, or ACT tests are high enough.

Chapman University - Registrar - Orange - New Student Reg - SAT-ACT

It helped my son last year and he waived 3 or 4 classes just based on test scores alone. They will automatically give it to you when admitted if they have those scores sent from the testing agenices. It will save us almost a semester of classes in tuition.

Perhaps this thread is "aging" as the process goes on, but are some of you RD applicants who have heard back from Chapman already?

I just submitted my application in as a transfer student for film production. Now all I have to do is wait a couple of weeks and hear my brain rattling out from anticipation.

haha. well i just created my collegeconfidential profile today because i'm just going crazy about this chapman aplication thing!!!! haha. i applied regular decision. well almost exactly at the deadline.(maybe a couple minutes b4 then). and everyday i've been checking webadvisor nonstop until i see something instead of decision pending....if i see that thing one more time, i swear i'm going to flip!!!!!.

Yeah, I applied regular admission, and pretty late at that (the deadline was 1/15, and I sent it with all my other applications at 1/10). I haven't gotten anything back since the webadvisor password, and my status says that I've been Decision Pending since 2/17. Anybody doing better?
