Fall 2009 acceptance letters

Here's an update from my son: received acceptance package on 03/07/09. His app went in on 11/15/08, I believe (film production), so that took a little bit of time, didn't it?

I got in. I applied regular decision in january, so odds are you guys will know either now or soon enough.

Congrats to all who got in, and you'll see me in the fall!

FANTASTIC JOB copperhikari!

can't wait to meet you all.

D's webadvisor just changed to "accepted"! Applied RD for english major....

Just checking..."Admission Approved" does mean I got in...right?

you're right, copperhikari, it does say admission approved .... sounds like a yes to me!

Well, now I'm applying for the Creative Writing scholarship (because I'm a Creative Writing major!). I assume I'll be getting a financial aid thingy in the mail soon?

checks WebAdvisor for the 500th time

sees Admission Approved

squeals like a girl for the 500th time

Congrats Copperhikari!
My daughter was also admitted to the BFA Creative Writing. As for the Scholarship...Did you notice they have conflicting deadlines? The webpage says the deadline is March 31st but when you click on the link the info says March 15th. We put in a call to the contact person, but did not receive a response. So do you happen to know the correct deadline?
Thanks and Good Luck! :)

I noticed that too. I ultimately just sent it in on the 14th, just to be safe. I sent in my Common App and the Supplement, an AP Gov paper and a 10-page piece, and the two letter thingies. Hope the scholarship is something heavy, because otherwise I might not be able to afford Chapman. -_-

i just got into chapman! woot woot. and i got the presidential scholars award :) anyone else get that? or know about how many they give out?

i heard 2 kids got accepted into the film program this year....one from LCHS. a frend went to talk to one coach and he said that. But then again thats just what i heard.

what do you mean 2 film kids? Do you mean from regular decision or in total? Because all the film students were required to apply early action, and all of them should have found out by now.

I can't tell if "Admission Approved" means that they approved their admissions decision or they approved my acceptance. I hope it means I got in.

Admission Approves definitely means you are in. Says so on the Admissions Blog. Congratulations.

Still stuck in "decision pending."
I'm going crazy.
I hope I hear soon....
They said they would finish decisions by April 1st.
Please may they finish soon....!

Have any transfer students for Film Production received an answer yet? My son applied as a transfer student and on web advisor it says File Complete, Decision Pending as of 03/20/09. He just received a letter today dated 3/12 that states he needs to send in the recommendation letter for the Film College. That letter was sent in Feb. Do you think the letter is missing or it just crossed in the mail. It is too late to call Chapman today, so he will have to wait until Monday. Any thoughts??

Transfer students applying for Film Production will probably hear around May/June. My application status reads the same as your sons, "File Complete, Decision Pending." However, did he send in a recommendation letter to Dodge College, and they're claiming they never received it? If so, contact the school and tell them it was sent and they might be able to locate it. If he hasn't sent it, you should send it right away. Call them as soon as possible.

Thanks One-way--

Yes, the recommendation letter for the film school was sent in Feb. and Chapman's letter dated 3/12 is saying to send it in. We were a little confused since the web advisor says File Complete, Decision Pending as of 03/20/09. We thought they had received everything, since it said file complete, but now we are not sure. He will have to call on Monday to verify.

In WebAdvisor, if you click "My Documents," there should be a list of everything your son sent in. Does it say "Received" for the recommendation letter? If so, it's probably taken care of. If not, as I said, it's probably been misplaced. I've heard of many instances where letters and transcripts were lost and with a simple phone call, they were able to locate it. Either way, give them a call.

Decision pending finally changed to Admission Approved!!! Yippee. Now just waiting for the written confirmation. Won't be celebrating too much until that comes in the mail!
