Checked my status yesterday and it changed to “Admission Approved” for Creative Producing :D

Hi,
I just found out that I didn’t get into the cinematic school at USC but I did get into the arts & Science school. I also got into Chapman, LMU and NYU. I don’t like New York so that is out. Where should I go?

^^^Chapman is better than LMU. I would totally say Chapman. It also depends on your lifestlye. But Chapman is amazing.

Thanks–I’m leaning toward Chapman but how is it beyond the film school? Academically. I mean.

I’m getting so nervous. Many decisions were sent out March 15, but my status is still “File complete, decision pending” ahhh! Anybody else stilllll waiting??

I am as well.

Aren’t they suppose to notify you by April 1st? That’s tomorrow. Maybe I didn’t get in. :/

My S is waiting for decision also.
Very frustrating as we need to plan visits to one or two schools on the East coast depending on Chapman decision.

Webadvisor changed to Decision Complete.
Chappenings blog is vague about what this means.
I called the Adm office, –> equally vague “just means a decision was made; you’ll get a letter in the mail.”

I’m assuming these are politically correct or coy ways of communicating a rejection.

I don’t mind the let-down, however I do mind the delay.
My S wants to visit his other top 2 choices where he’s been admitted (across the country) and each day of delay is $$ increase in air fare with the Easter holiday.

I also got a “decision complete”

To be completely honest, I have heard many people say “Decision Complete” means you have been rejected but I can tell you that isn’t always the case. “Admission Approved” definitely means you have been accepted, there’s no question about it and it has been confirmed by David May. However, “Decision Complete” can also mean you have been waitlisted.

WITH THAT SAID, I have heard of an instance where somebody received a “Decision Complete” and got a letter in the mail stating he/she was ACCEPTED. It’s tough to say, but don’t lose all hope.

Also, if you guys don’t mind, can you keep us informed? I’m a transfer and won’t hear back until May/June so I’d like to see the correlation between online status/actual mail. Thank you.

I have a feeling it’s rejection

Mine still says “Decision Pending” ugh.

Does it really? I’m sure it’ll change today. Their goal was to notify everybody by today.

I hope so. I’m stressing like crazy.

Not to bring you down or anything, this is my own negativity
but I’ve come to the conclusion that I was rejected…if I were accepted they would’ve just said it like they did to everyone else

Think positive! Thinking negative won’t get you anywhere.

Someone already said that it could mean a variety of things. Don’t beat yourself over it.

Yea I knowwww, but it’s just very hard.
I’m a great student. Good grades, lots of sports, volunteer work, blah blah blah
& I’ve been denied from 4/5 schools so far…Chapman is the 5th I’m waiting for…
So you can see why it’s very hard for me to be positive haha

I just got the packet from Chapman saying I was in, but they said I was on probationary status for a semester because my academic record was lower than average. This kinda sucks, but I’m still happy I got in…Why do you think they would put me on that probationary status, because my record wasn’t that low!

That’s better than a straight NO! That means they like the kind of person you are and believe that you have the potential, but you’re being lazy hahaha.
What kind of grades did you get? I had VERY low SAT scores…

I wasn’t that lazy, but my grades and SAT scores weren’t the best at all. 1640-SAT and a 3.6 GPA…so yeah. I should be grateful Chapman accepted me, you’re right! Thanks!
