Fall 2009 transfer to NCSU or USC?

So I just applied to North Carolina State University (NCSU) and University of California (USC) today as a transfer student. I have completed one semester at the University at Albany with a 3.74 GPA as a physics major. Also I have 13 college credits from high school, all with high b's and a's. I really want to do mechanical engineering which Albany does not offer. My high school GPA was an 88.6 and my SAT score was not well, in fact a 550 on the math and a 520 on the reading :-(. Does anyone think i have a good chance of getting in? Also, will they even look at my SAT or highschool because after this semester I will have 42 credits and both schools say after 30 credits they do not consider SAT scores. Also I have fulfilled all the minimum requirements after this coming semester.

anybodys oppinion will help... please! :-)

bump bump bump

ok I take it nobody knows nothing about these schools?

I don't know if anyone can answer your question.
Did you meet all the prerequisites for USC's engineering or physics department(if they have any)? Because it's not solely about just you taking 30 units and they let you in based on your gpa alone.

Also is there a reason why you applied to just two schools?

With only one semester under your belt, your high school record is going to be highly weighted. I don't imagine that good engineering schools will like to see a SAT Math score of 550.

I was accepted to NCSU but for biochemistry. I do know that their engineering program is very competitive. They prefer that transfer students transfer as Juniors. They also offer guaranteed admission into their engineering program to local community college students that complete the 2 year pre-engineering program. So I imagine there will be little space available for transfers into the engineering program that are out of state. It will be pretty tough for you

yes I did meet all the prerequisites for both colleges and my family lives in Charlotte so for NCSU i don't know if that will help? Thanks for the post and any more information will be helpful.
