Anyone else applying to USC? I am worried about the June 1st UC SIR deadline in light of the fact that USC admission decisions won’t be out till May or even longer if Spring Grades are requested. What are your guy’s plans.

heerapatel: don’t worry, if you have finished all of your pre-requisites, I would be pretty shocked if you didn’t get into all of those schools.

srjcstud: I’m also applying to USC. IF I get into both USC and Berkeley, then I will be faced with a very very tough decision. If I get rejected from Berkeley then I will probably submit my SIR for UCSD (my 3rd choice) on the day of the deadline. If I then find out that I got accepted to USC, then I would let UCSD know that I won’t be attending, and I guess do what other USC applicants have done: bite the bullet and flush the fee down the toilet. :(

It is much more likely for sophomore applicants to get the spring grade request, so I’m really hoping that I don’t get one of those wretched things. If I get into CAL and rejected from USC, then you can probably figure out where I’ll end up.

Many, haha. Applied for Rhetoric at Berkeley, Philosophy at UCSB and UCD, Urban Studies & Planning (with the intent of doubling-up in Philosophy) at UCSD, and Philosophy/Open at USC, with the intent of majoring at SPPD (I love the unique program).

is it really impossible to transfer from other cities to UC’s? should i really choose community colleges which located in California? what would be the chance if i were in NY,NJ ? lower or higher?

From: College of the Canyons (HITE, Alpha Beta Gamma)
To: UCI, UCSD
GPA: 3.28 with upward grade trend (I know. I really screwed up my first year. But I’ve been getting excellent grades since then, taking all the classes I need to, and doing the best I can).
Major: English/Literary Journalism (go UCI!)
Interests: Friends, movies, writing, music

APPLIED: USC, UCLA, UCSD
GPA: 3.76 (one B in calc and a 3.7 already sigh)
MAJOR: ECONOMICS
Pre-reqs: Complete by Spring
EC: Honestly, not much. I am VERY worried. Especially since I left the community service section . . . BLANK. What was I thinking? Well, I clearly wasn’t.

After I received the B in calc, my hopes for LA aren’t too high. Especially since this is my second time taking calculus. (took calc in hs and received a 4 on the Ap test) I can’t believe IT. ■■■

Don’t worry too much. You still have a chance for LA. And UCSD looks pretty good too… USC… blegh, who’d want to go there :)

On a side note, it seems like everyone in my calculus classes that took AP calc. in high school did far WORSE than the students who had never seen calculus in their life. Apparently they thought they already knew everything and didn’t need to study.

Applying to: UCB, UCLA, UCD, UCSB, UCR, UCSC
From: Pierce College
major: art history
GPA: 3.45 (will go up after spring 09 semester)
Interests: zodiacs/horoscope, working out, coffee
EC: uh, nothing at the moment. I don’t want to volunteer at some place I don’t give a rat’s ass about. It needs to work with my career goals and i haven’t found that yet…
Personal Statement: It was unusually difficult to write the PS. ironically, it’s easier to brag about yourself with your mouth than it is on paper.

I’m aiming to UCSB or UCLA. but i’m scared cuz my gpa is considerably lower than the ones i’ve seen on this thread!

APPLIED: UCLA UCB UCSD and UCD
GPA: 3.76 (I received all A in my pre-reqs class, got Bs in the GE classes :[
MAJOR: Statistics
Pre-reqs: complete by spring
EC: very little because i work 40 hours a week , will this affect me a lot since i dont have any EC other than working

What are my chances for UCB and UCLA? is statistics a competitive major at these schools? I realized my GPA is kinda low compare to others on this thread.

Applied: UCSD [only school i want to go to lol]
From: De Anza/Foothill
Major: Human Biology
GPA: 3.34 [i know its bad… -___-']
Pre-reqs: either 9/12 or 10/12 completed by spring
EC: part time job as secretary, possibly joinging PTK, kickboxing, note-taker? [if that counts…]

Question guys. I know the school of L&S has the 7-breadth requirement, but I applied to the school of natural resources and I wonder if you guys know what the breadth requirements are in this school. On myBerkeleyApp under breadth requirement it only asks for English R1A and R1B, and then (English, if necessary). <—What does this mean??

Also at the end of the application it asks if I completed IGETC. I did not because I come from an out of state 4 year institution. Do you think I should list all of my breadth requirements that I think will transfer over instead, or just leave it be?
This is kinda urgent guys. Thanks
