Fall 2010 Freshman Applicants!

Thanks, I was referring to the Pegasus Scholarships. If I got accepted around a month ago but have not received a letter about aid yet, should I assume I’m not getting a scholarship? I was kind of assuming I would…

They have just started reviewing for pegasus- so dont worry yet- I was hoping my son would get something but I dont think his sats are high enough? Does anyone know if they look at all three sections for that? How about finding a roommate that wants to live in same dorm/complex? Facebook?

What was his SAT?

I applied on labor day, and was accepted a week later (:

D found her roommate last year on Facebook. Have your S look for the Class of 2014 UCF group.

Just letting you guys know that scholarship offers are now being posted on the myUCF page. I got Gold, so I’m happy as can be! :)

where will it be posted? Is it in the application status portion?

I got Bronze. :frowning: I was hoping for more.

My son just got accepted. He applied exactly two weeks ago. Weighted GPA 3.74, SAT 1290 without writing, 1890 with writing. He also has 11 AP classes plus additional honors classes.

BONAFIDE: thats great ! I checked myucf for my dd and I checked in the financial aid section and I don’t see anything (I called and was told thats where it would be…) is that right?
My dd applied in July. I will have to keep checking. Would you mind if I asked what kind of stats you had? thanks !!

I’ve ED Duke. And the checklist said I have submitted everything. HAHA.Wish me good luck.

Got accepted today! took a while, had everything in on october 6th, how long does it take to receive the acceptance packet in the mail? and what are my chances of pegasus silver or gold?. 28 ACT, 3.85 GPA, also im OOS so im guessing they offer higher amounts, since the total cost is around $28k =/.

Looony2nz: As soon as you logon to myUCF and go to the “Student Center,” any pending scholarship offers should be under “To-Do” in the purple panel to the right of the screen (under the green “Class Search/Browse Catalog” button). Additionally, if you scroll down on the same page (Student Center), the offer should be under “Undergrad. Admission.”

My credentials were: 3.66/4.50 (unweighted, weighted), 1240 SAT, 28 SAT

i got the pegasus gold scholarship
3.92 UW, 4.59 W 1530 SAT, 33 ACT

I’m still waiting, got everything in by november 1st (recieved transcripts, test results, application, etc). From reading so many threads for UCF (on here and yahooanswers), I am thinking I might be waiting a while especially since my stats arent all that great (not a good standardized test taker) and it seems they take longer for people with low scores

act: 23 -retaking in december - will be 2nd time, hopefully will be better!
sat: 1030 (560 math 470 reading)
ucf gpa so far: 3.89 (should get higher since i have all A’s this semester except for Econ and ap lang (which is an 83 without the 10 points, i dont know if ucf keeps the 10 points on?) - 6 classes)

my ap lang teacher said my essay was really good

letter of recommendation sent

2 ap classes

majority of my classes in hs have been honors

7 extra curricular activities

in the top 22% of my class

applied at first for fall, but changed it to summer term…so hopefully i will get in UCF since its my top choice…also am out of state - georgia, but just moved here like 2 years ago from florida where i lived my whole life (so mad i will still be considered out of state)

think i have a chance?

kael92, your scores are very similar to mine (i had 590 math and 490 reading) and ive had 3 APs, a ton of extracurriculars and community service, a sport, and a really good essay as well. However, I was deferred solely based on my SAT scores (most likely just reading). You will most likely be in the same boat as me and be deferred “to earn more competitive SAT or ACT scores”. I called undergraduate admissions and said for them to be able to review my app. again, I have to take the SATs; so I signed up for the December SAT on the late deadline. I heard back exactly one month after I applied (applied Oct. 12 and heard decision deferred Nov. 12 and signed up right then and there). You might want to consider signing up for the January SAT on top of you taking the December SAT if UCF is high on your list (its my top choice), or wait to hear back first then sign up. I’m not saying you won’t get accepted (but the ACT score might boost you up), but its very possible a decision will be deferred. Hope that this helps.

thanks seabreezeNHS! your stats are really similar to mine wow…so best bet is i’ll be deferred and i’ll need to raise SAT reading? i will probably sign up for it, but first will wait until i hear their decision…i hate SAT so much haha im the type who can do whatever you give me but i need alot of time. Appreciate the help, waiting for them to decide was just making me go crazy since it is my top choice as well, hopefully both of us will be able to improve on those standardized tests and show ucf we are meant there ;)

Kael, you might have a chance at summer term… some guy got admitted summer with a 23 ACT, so don’t be too negative about it yet… I’m also waiting anxiously with my 22 ACT, lol. But I’m in-state, so hopefully it helps with the admission. I just hope that around this time of the year, it isn’t considered late, since the deadline is next year.

yeah i hope same happens for me…there was this site i had looked at last week that they showed what they look at most by stars, i think being in the state was 2 stars which means if they need more they look at that, hopefully they like out of state from ga 2 ;)

im coming from out of state so i thought that’d help me (having to pay more for out of state), however i guess thats not the case… and kael, for both you and me after new schools we’ll most likely be admitted for summer, but id rather have fall…
