Fall 2010 Transfer, chances?

I was just curious what others thought my chances of being accepted were and I have a few questions.

My situation:
I'm a computer science major who just finished my freshman year at a Maryland community college (Frederick) and I would like to transfer to the University of Maryland in the Fall of 2010. I have about a 3.5, but I can guess that I will have about a 3.6 when I apply.
They don't need HS transcripts or SAT scores for transfer students with 30+ credits (which I have exceeded). The have the personal essay and resume listed as optional. I'll definitely write the essay, but I don't have much to put on a resume. I have not done much extra-curricular stuff at all; the only thing that I can think of is lettering in German club in 10th grade, lol.

My main questions are:
(1) Should I volunteer this summer away, or do I have a good chance of being accepted with a sparse/no resume?
(2) Would it be better to submit a sparse resume or none at all? (It is optional)
(3) How are my chances of being accepted looking?

Thanks for any input, I really appreciate it.

Have you looked into what , if anything else, is needed, for a transfer student? Try speaking to an admissions counselor at UMD admissions office. I am sure they could guide you and possibly give you some additionall info and advice. Good luck!

Do you work? If you have worked at all, put that in the resume and if you can get an internship or volunteer work this summer, then that helps too, especially if the work/volunteer work is in your field of study.

to transfer, when you have over 30 credits, the requirement is fundamental math and english, which is basically like any class in those subjects, i think, and a 3.0 though the average is a 3.2 gpa. But you exceed the absolute bare minimum, so i think you should be fine, though you can get advice from admissions if you’re unsure about the resume.
