As I stated, I'm going to be a transfer student this fall at UC Santa Cruz. My current major is Anthropology. I have plenty of friends that go to UCSC, and they're all in Porter. I've visited numerous times and I love the atmosphere of Porter, however according to the admissions site--transfer students can't be in Porter?!

The main reason why I liked Porter is because it seemed to have a fairly adequate LGBTQ community. I come from a town in Southern California that is politically moderate to conservative and I'm looking for a change. I know all of the proposed "stereotypes" of Porter--but they don't really bother me. I get along with all types of people, however I was hoping to be in a college with the most substantial gay community.

Since I can't be in Porter, what would be the best fit for a girl who happens to be gay? I was assuming Kresge--but I'd appreciate any/all feedback!!!

ALSO: I'm looking to get involved in any LGBTQ organizations on campus. Any knowledge of that would be amazing as well.

Please feel free to email me if you're in the same boat!
