Fall 2010 Transfer Thread

Decided that I would go ahead and get this started.

Anyone else anxiously awaiting that transfer admission acceptance??

u have a better shot at an ivy league. UF requires(not set in stone, but feels like it) a florida AA.

If you think about it, stanford, MIT etc don’t take much transfers because no one drops out to make rrom. UF has drop outs but not enough and slots are over filled w/ instate transfers.

does that mean its hard for international and OOS to get in? i am esp looking into business school…

Yeah, from what I heard it’s very hard for OOS students to get in, but you never know.

I’ll have my AA after this semester, and all of my pre-reqs and even more than my pre-reqs will be completed as of the summer term, so I’m hoping that acceptance is coming asap (except I know I’m going to have to wait until May or June probably).

I am waiting anxiously. Has anyone heard anything?

nope. I don’t think we’ll hear until May or June

I thought maybe we would hear back by March, but who knows.

waiting is not fun, especially since I’ve had my application in since October!!!

yeah I’ve had mine in since August! lol

I am! What are everyones stats like?

I am a transfer from a university (which makes it harder I know)
College of Education
3.85 pre req
4.00 pre professional
Honors
Over 80 hours of service learning hours

What do you think?

sounds good to me!

my stats are:
CC transfer (i’ll have my AA by spring 2010)
program gpa: 3.88
overall gpa: 3.91

Both of those look good, here is mine

CC transfer
College of health and human performance
pre-professional GPA: 4.0
overall GPA: 3.85

Ahh man…looking at your GPAs makes me really worried >.<

I sent in my application last week for Materials Science and Engineering, I’m hoping and praying for the best…my GPA took a nosedive last semester because I made Bs in Calc 2 and Chem 1, went from a 3.66 to a 3.46 :(

I’m taking Calc 3 and Physics 1 right now and I’ll have finished my final pre-reqs by the end of this summer when I get my AA degree (those classes being Diff Eq and Physics 2)…I’m really going to need to make As in these classes. I’m hoping they won’t be so harsh on the lack of pre-reqs on my application…

Here’s mine:

Accounting
CC transfer
overall GPA: 3.9
pre-prof. GPA: 4.0

Yeah, I’m getting worried too.

Finance
Overall GPA is: 3.3
Pre-professional: 3.72

Well, im praying, too. Im getting my AA after this semester. im graduating from a CC on may 1st and i plan to attend UF for fall IF i get accepted, and i just applied like a week ago lol so i know for a fact that my chances are VERY LOW ouch!

Criminology
GPA: 3.47

Recently UF has reffered my application to the college for final decision. Anyone else?

yea mines been like that for about 3 months (I applied in Oct. and I think that appeared in around Nov.)

I can’t believe how fast of a response I got. I sent my application Dec 16th and just heard now. Accepted for fall 2010.

AA Transfer from Florida C.C
4.0 GPA
4.0 Pre-prof

Well, your stats are terrific. If you got a 4.0, this means you’ve done the better than everyone else in every class you’ve taken at your CC. Though, I must say that a little over a month is faster than usual, given UF’s characteristically long wait time for admissions. I am applying for the Summer Term from the University of Connecticut, and they are about to send my application to the college for final decision.

UConn
Biology
Overall: 3.77
Pre-Med: 4.0

Congratulations on your acceptance, hopefully we’ll all be gators when this process is through.

mine doesnt allow me to access my status, says check back later. Is this an indication that ill get decision soon?
