Fall 2010 Transfers

Hey all,

Anyone else been accepted as a transfer applicant for this coming fall semester? I'm currently a freshman at Lehigh University, but I'm pretty sure I'm gonna switch over to Wash U (my decision will mostly depend on my financial aid package).

So, if anyone else thinks they'll be attending, maybe say a little something about where you're coming from, your year, major, reasons for transferring, who knows! I wanna get to know some people!

hey- i haven’t been accepted to washu yet (hopefully) but i’m applying to transfer now. i actually have a question for you. was your common app essay general to transferring or specific to washu? i’m applying to other schools so my common app essay explained why i want to transfer- in general terms. because washu doesn’t have a supplement, i’m afraid that my application is not washu-specific enough. i’m thinking about sending the admissions committee a letter talking about my visit to washu and why i like it. your thoughts? (anyone else can answer this) thanks!

My common app essay was as generic as they come…I answered the prompt and that was that. Don’t worry about the lack of a supplement. I mean, you visited, (did you have an interview, too?), so I’m sure the admissions committee knows you’re pretty interested – you’re in better shape than a lot of people in that regard.

Sending that letter couldn’t hurt your chances, though, if you really think it’s necessary to explain yourself. Best of luck!

yeah, i had an “interview”- if you’ll call it that. i met with the transfer dean of a&s. i figure it can’t hurt to send in a letter. thanks for the help, and hopefully see you next year!

Hey, I was accepted for Fall 2010 for college of engineering. My major is chemical engineering/premed. Im from Stony Brook University…and i hate it here. But idk if im going to washu, im waiting on 7 more schools and the financial package is a big factor.
