Fall 2011 Acceptances

how bad would this hurt if someone just pranked us saying that the decisions are up and we all rush there…

hmm firefox spell check picks up “pranked” weird

I am back from the dead.

@fl1p1npr1d3
At first, I followed the same steps to go to what regularly would lead you to the page which it tells you that they’re still working, but strangely got redirected to the “Current Student” page instead a couple times (b/c I thought it was weird and kept logging off and on)…but then I guess it was fixed or whatever.

on myapplication the only message that pops up for me is the same message that’s been there for the last 2 monthss. is this a bad sign??? got into ucla, uci, ucr… ucsd is the last uc i applied to~ so nervousss. x__x

The we’re still review ur app message? Then, don’t worry I’m getting that too.

yepp that messagee. ack but what’s with all the “current student” businesss???

if you got into ucla, ucsd is a no brainer, relax.

@mykkim I think it’s just a glitch some people kept getting, I got it too, but now it links me to the right place (“we are still reviewing apps etcetc”)

@spatel: It’s because “prank” is a noun. It’s only used as a verb colloquially.

in case you get any weird error pages, directed to wrong pages or anything of that sort,

type in this :

myapplication.ucsd.edu

^ i called them and they said this is the link that will get you to the application status in case you sign in and direct you somewhere else.

i feel like for last year, ucla was a lot more harder to get into than ucsd.
and this year, ucla has admitted a lot more people than i expected… So maybe ucsd will be harder to get into this year???
So just because someone gets into ucla, it doesn’t guarantee that they’ll get into ucsd… Since different qualifications could’ve been met in one school, that will not be met in the other.

UCSD is just pure points…high GPA and high SAT and you’re in…UCLA views apps more holistically.

i thought ucsd was also switching over to a more hollistic way of reviewing apps?

Really? I thought their point system was pretty straight forward…idk if they’ll be changing anything this year

well i’m not completely sure either, i just think i heard from my counselor(?) that ucsd is going to be switching over to a more hollistic way of reviewing apps… but i haven’t found any documentation from ucsd directly stating that they’re switching methods…

Ugh…stupid nerves…we’ll find out soon anyways…

oh i found something from the uc regents about ucsd and irvine switching to holistically reviewing applications.
[UC admissions: UC regents urge campuses to adopt holistic review for prospective freshmen - latimes.com](UC moves toward holistic review of applicants)

mykkim:

ucla has admitted a lot more people than i expected

what made you say that ???
from what I know, there are a lot more UCLA applicants this year, however since more UCLA graduates in 4 years, they were able to have the same number of acceptance …

Hi guys. So are UCSD decisions coming out on Saturday before 11AM? How do we check our decision?

@theleakers i don’t know about nationally, but just from my group of friends… i haven’t seen one rejection. so just from my perspective it feels like a lot of people got in. i know that unfortunately, there were a lot of qualified people who got rejected too, and i’m not trying to make it seem like it was easy to get into ucla because i KNOW that it’s freaking hard.

A lot of my friends got in too but they’re all top 10% at least, and we go to a fairly competitive school…
