<p>I’m totally crushed. I was so expecting to get into UCSD, I thought my stats exceeded the average by a lot. They even sent me an email from the engineering school telling me I was a top applicant :(</p>

<p>Well, UCSD did say that they were moving away from the point system and using a holistic approach to admissions. I guess class of 2011 (high school) is experiencing the ill effects of this. 
Man, our class has it screwed—ELC is being expanded NEXT year to 9% or something, next year, many colleges are not requiring SAT IIs, and isn’t Harvard bringing back EA next year as well?
