whatever will be will be …

do they tell me how many points you have if you get rejected ???

whatever will be will be …

do they tell me how many points you have if you get rejected ???

True, but the more difficult the school, the harder to achieve higher grades. It may not be counted in points, but is that taken into consideration?

no clue, but let’s hope that’s true.

UCSD’s the only university I know that publicly show prospective students their rubric…

omg seriously? we have to wait another week?

In the UCSD score sheet I don’t see anything with essays. Does that mean that essays don’t count towards our score? Our was that only last years?

I wonder how the essays will be counted in if they’re considering a holistic review now . =/

UCSD reads essays to find areas where they can apply points. For example, if you wrote about the death of a family member, you get 500 points in trauma. If you wrote about an excellent achievement (first place nationals, USAMO), then you get points in the talent/awards section.

Dunno now if they’re using a “holistic” review. I doubt it’s a big difference.

For example, if you wrote about the death of a family member, you get 500 points in trauma.

I think this is a little ridiculous, the GPA is being multiply by 1000 to get the points on the GPA part, so a student has a 4.0 GPA would get 4000 points, and a student has a 3.5 GPA would get 3500, how can they equate a 0.5 difference in GPA with a trauma ???

Scored 7914 on the UCSD score sheet. Can it be enough?

ok guys, i’m blocking collegeconfidential on my browser. i realized this whole anxiety thing doesn’t help when i’m wasting time on a forum, eek. all this valuable time could be wasted on facebook. jk. anyway, good luck on your endeavors, guys! see y’all when decisions are out…

Am I naive to believe that UCSD is the only public university with an elaborate rubric?

Lesser publics probably just have a SAT/GPA chart and forget ECs or the personal statement. More selective publics are “holistic”.

The UCSD rubric and point crunching system gives me headaches. It makes me wonder if those admissions officers have brittle fingers from all the calculator use. -.-

Haha, I totally agree with JelloBiafra.

On a side note, I had a dream that I got admitted to UCSD, no lie. Then I woke up and almost started crying because it felt so real.

These college admissions dreams seem to be a recurring thing for me; just last week I had a dream that I got into Reed College, my second choice. -___-

Alright guys, college diet for me until April, when I have all my decisions. See y’all in a couple weeks and good luck with decisions. Haha.

@Kings, maybe two hours? It’s been a few years since I’ve gone.

[Ms. Sun’s UC Admissions Blog](http://askmssun.livejournal.com/)

soo sad i dont want to wait that long

@JeSuis

Ha ha. Two hours sounds about right.

come on, kingselite, get the decisions out !!!

Just got out of Geisel library. Amazing!

did you see any green eggs and ham?

@theleakers

I’ll get around to it after finals.

@JeSuis

Did you see a lot of depressed students?

Geisel library looks a lot like the building in the final dream level in Inception, lol.

And I’ve yet to visit UCSD, since I live about 10 hours away by car D: I really want to visit the campus!

@pope: no…

@kings: kind of. Mostly just tired haha. Eighth story is eerily silent. in the shuttle students were talking about finals and papers. Some girl is starting a 15 page research paper tonight that’s due tomorrow…

@Adam: that’s about the same time it takes me. It was a long drive :P
