Fall 2011 Acceptances

Adamtoise, i dont think this school is worth the wait everytime ive been there everyone seems extremely depressed. Dont know if icould tolerate four years there.

is the call for everyone who is admitted? or is it for only the top applicants? and what time does it come out tomorrow?

Depressed? of what?

The guy told me that it was they were only calling the “highest achieving” applicants. All he said was Saturday afternoon.

@ tyler…thats why i would take ucsb and ucd over ucsd. ucsd is ranked slightly higher and is a great school, but i feel i would have a better college experience at the other two

No, they were calling people eligible for the SPACES/BSU Overnight program (according to the guy who worked at undergraduate admissions).

I’ve never even heard of people being depressed(of course some are, never heard any stories about it though) at UCSD o.o

I live 30 minutes away from Davis and it gets depressing during winter because its cold, rainy, and muddy…but other than that its a great college town with lots of school spirit…

It’s currently my 3rd choice :)

UCSD has all the qualities of Davis (other than sports,which I don’t really care about) the nice weather (except ALL YEAR ROUND), big, great architecture, lotsa asians, prestige, and somewhere new to explore

“Although academics at UCSD are world-class, they are not always the most important factor in the overall experience. Social life at UCSD is known to be a little boring. Many students wish they had a more active social life, but most still manage to find friends with whom they create lasting memories.”

“UCSB students can’t say enough good things about this place, and most never want to leave. Whether it’s the academics, the weather, the social scene, or the laid-back atmosphere, practically all students fall in love with something here.”

@flip…and sports is a must for me.

**************…and yes i have been to both campuses. i just feel like sd wouldnt be that fun. nothing against the school, because its really good (and i have an above average chance of being denied lol)

MAybe because of finals week? lol

When do calls start for minority students?

Is Laos considered a minority? =/ There’s not much of us around my area… but I hope its considered a minority! But maybe not cause its still Asian!

@fl1p1npr1d3

I don’t live too far from Davis either, where are you from? And honestly, “bad weather” in Davis is pretty much a joke around the rest of the U.S. I’ve heard people say good weather in the winter is when it’s 30 degrees and you’re not snowed into your house. Here if it drops below 40 people go insane.

@KingsElite

I live in Elk Grove lol.

And yeah, about the weather, I’m from the Philippines so my idea of good weather is like 75+ degrees…and I really despise the cold. That’s why SoCal weather is so much better for me

^Ha ha. I know what you mean. Once you get use to the weather somewhere, changing to something worse is like “OH MY GOD THIS SUCKS”. That’s what I feel like going back home, but then one of my friends goes to BYU and he dreams of the day that he gets to leave the 20 degree weather. And I’m from Lincoln by the way.

Is the whole depressed student thing true? Is it boring at UCSD?

It’s “socially dead” because there is a strict no alcohol on campus regulation. Making kids hard to host parties and what not.

I really like Davis because when i saw the campus it felt…comfortable :slight_smile: big and spacious but because of the trees and stuff idk it just felt like somewhere i could see myself. Also, im about 1-2.5 hours away (depending on traffic) so its far enough for me to be on my own, but close enough to not be a hassle coming home. I havn’t visited UCSD but eh =/ just from what i’ve heard and seen it’s a great school, just not for me

what time does it come out tomorrow???

eventho i know ima get rejected…having been rejected from ucla already=[
on the possitive side, i just took a shower for my dog =D…i atleast feel accopmlished

sorry fort he typos
