Why call when you can wait desperately-anxious?
as if it makes Random want to stab himself with a rusty screw, or makes Brohjik check the forum every 5 min, or as if it makes me check my email & phone every 2 mins?
I think we will be just fine without making a call…
Now, on the real…who is calling??..lol…j/k
Calling wouldn’t be a good idea…their answer will be the same “applicants will get a response by May 1st” , I doubt they will give you any specific answer, even if they made the decision. What’s worse what if they rescind their decision “this student cant follow simple instructions and wait for a call”…nooooope I wouldn’t dare call…I’ll chew my nails, my cuticles, and be as patient as the Thinker that’s sitting in Morningside campus… - If there is one lesson we learned this past 2 months is that Patience is INDEED a virtue… ;)

I have considered call FedEx about a million times but I figure that they will call before they send out the package.

A round of Johnnie Blue on me to whoever gets in! I would have to get in of course to supply the round! With the financial situation it might have to be a round of Red Label. (Or a shared pitcher of PBR. Ewww. nvm)

Then again I would toast everyone here with a glass of OJ if it meant we had reason to celebrate.

Agreed James,
As a matter of fact, let us all toast now so that CU can see our true potential for leadership and academic excellence at their rigorous institution and, that most importantly, GS grant us acceptance so that we can learn from the CU resources that will lead us all in this forum to become key leaders of our society.
TO a CU ACCEPTANCE! - cheers (…Glass clink…) hehe

Does anyone know how they notify international applicants? I doubt they’ll call all the way to Peru…
I sent the last of my papers Feb. 22 and I haven’t heard anything…

My crazy got the best of me and I called FedEx but to no avail.

CuNyu: They would probably send a FedEx package or maybe they will call. Or possibly e-mail.

CUNYU -I am more than certain that they know how to call Intl. A good % of the CU student population are intl students, and they also have school extentions overseas so they have to constantly communicate with students and parents on various and different matters. I did read on the GS site that “evaluation of international transcripts is done externally”, so I do not know if the process and time-line is the same, I am sure they are though. But, I am sure that they know how to call to Peru, don’t worry, you’ll probably get in before all of us too …You never know… :)

I hope that if anyone gets a rejection that they will not be too distraught to let us know

if it happens to me (which I pray on my knees it doesn’t) I will let you know…I will need to vent somewhere and since I wouldn’t do it with my friends and fam…I’ll let this forum be my crying pillow…BUT LET’S THINK POSITIVE!! That’s not going to happen to us…all of us here have a great chance of getting in…we will probably all meet in orientation. ;)

Another day without a rejection in the mailbox, hopefully it will be an acceptance on the phone tomorrow

I guess they could call to Peru, the problem is I gave them my home number and during the day I am never in. If they do call, a Spanish-only speaking person will answer…I don’t know how they would work that out, I hope the Admissions Officer speaks spanish too!

So what are you all majoring in??
I’ve chosen the combined major of Art History & Visual Arts.

I am interested in the joint Economics-Mathematics concentration

I am majoring in Financial Economics…:)

Anyone here for Statistics? Im leaning Stats but I have an interest in FEcon also.

Anyone know if you can take stats and take a few courses of interest within the FEcon requirements like Corporate finance and strategy and add as an elective?

BTW-Does your application have to say that it is under second review?
I just read a post from last years admissions that the application tracking system should mention this. Does anyone know, or have a similar situation?

Random…this is the first time I hear about it. I guess this would be for applicants whose decision get deferred to be review with the rest of the applicant pool with june 1st deadline

My unused idea: you should send several additional photos of yourself to admissions - you know, to complete your file - and they could be of you reading this forum, waiting for an acceptance letter somehow, or maybe doing something more enjoyable. If they don’t respond within a week, send more photos.

Listen, if more admissions details help to tide you over…it wasn’t just my imagination. An actual packet came in the mail today. [imgur: the simple image sharer](Imgur: The magic of the Internet) It was overnighted via FedEx on 4/6 and I skipped out on my art prerequisite today to pick it up.

I’ll keep planning my days at Columbia with you good folks since there’s no login info included for the GS online community. You all sound like fine writers and that really ought to translate into a winning application.

Oooo Greathal I’m so happy for you!! Thank you for taking the time to upload the pic, that’s really nice of you. So did they give you a PID# and a new CUID#? I applied in February so now you can imagine how nervous I am, waiting for a response. You were in our shoes and I hope soon I’ll be in yours…sharing the details of my acceptance…congrats again :)
