I’m sorry, californiakimmy! You have so many positives! Don’t be too down about this one school’s decision. You sound like a great student!

@hpgirl: Im thinking about it but I’m not sure yet. I’ve visited the campus before and I love it! My only concerns are that it’s small and I’ve read it’s sorta just like high school. I come from a small high school so I’m debating whethe or not I want the ‘real college experience’.

@ isaybazinga, i’m not sure about dean’s scholarships, but people who received the provost’s scholarship were notified in the letter too :/

Comments: I was originally deferred EA - surprised then, and even more surprised now. I don’t really want to go to SCU - just apped as a safety. I will probably get off of it soon to not take up space for anyone else. Good luck everyone!

hey! so im not sure what to do now. SCU is my top chioce but I need money to go there, and there are limited SCU funds left for waitlisted people and I’m not getting state or federal funding. What do I do? It’s my dream school, but i don’t know that I’m going to get enough money to go there. It also says that the waitlisted students aren’t ranked. Does that mean if I write a letter, call, and interview my chances won’t be any higher? SNyone know the waitlisted stats for SCU?

Thanks.

To everyone who is unable to log in to ecampus. It’s because they are in the process of updating your status. (I think - as we had the same problem.) Just keep checking - your
application status will come up soon.

@pacerchick21: I’m in the same position as you, SCU is my top choice and I don’t know what to do! I’m not even really sure about how the waitlist works.

Does anyone know when they usually let people know of waitlisted decisions? I’m just so confused because this means I’ll have to commit to a different college, but I’m not sure what to do if I do end up being accepted :/

so from what I know, from looking around online and I just spoke with the SCU admission office. basically you accept the waitlisting and then on May 1st when they know who accepted their admission they will go through the waitlist at random (if they need it). Which really no one can know, except from what I read because kids are applying to more and more colleges more waitlisted students are getting in. The percent that I have found is around 25% get in from waitlist. Then we will find out the decison of the waitlisted students by May 16th. Since this date is after you need to have responded to most schools you should enroll at your second choice school. Problem is for me at least, one, you pay a $500-$1,000 fee to enroll in another college that you usually cannot get back it you are accepted on the waitlist. And two, (my biggest issue) is by the time waitlisted students are accepted all of SCU’s financial aid funds are gone so you either have to be getting money from the federal or state funds, (which i am not going to get).

sooo…I don’t think it’s really an option for me. But if you are getting money from the state or can pay a $52,000 fee to santa clara then I wish you luck

oh…ps. try not to accept the waitlist option unless you are really positive you will go there if they pick you, because then you could be taking the chance away from someone that REALLY wants it.

Waitlisted too! Better than nothing…I guess. So we won’t know until mid-May? And there will be limited funds? Well that’s a good deal…

Waitlisted, shocked. Got into USD EA. This is whack yo. Oh well, I’ve always thought USD was harder to get into, guess I’ll just go there.

ACCEPTED!!!
