Has anyone received their package yet? Is this a complete package?

Subsidized Loan- 2750
Unsubsidized Loan- 1000

I have no idea why my package is so little. Is this normal? My EFC was 6700.

mine was small too, i didnt feel as if it was right either. but i guess thats what they’re giving this year.

I wasn’t sure either so I called financial aid. I don’t know if it was just my case but they said when students decide not to go to FSU, they hand out their aid to other student. The lady also told me not to count on it. My financial aid package now is what I should expect to actually have.

Universities are cutting down grants and scholarships a lot these days. I too am not getting much for this fall. It will have to be out of pocket I guess. :(

did they offer any of yall Federal Work-Study program?

If you applied for Work Study thru FAFSA and didn’t receive it, they will have a waiting list starting in the first week of August.

I didn’t get it even though i said yes in my FAFSA…

So you mean we don’t have to do anything? like talk to the financial office about considering or trying an appeal? is it automatic?

I emailed them and asked and they responded a few days later. I’m not sure if the waiting list is automatic or you have to sign up. Once I found out there were no openings I gave up for now but will contact them again in July. It can’t hurt to call and see…

Florida legislators are still fighting about money working on the state budget, but it looks like there is still a chance Bright Futures Scholarships might not be changed for next year. No doubt legislators have been getting an earful from people complaining about the proposed changes to BF.

@alongwait: thanx… i will also try to contact them and ask them about this…lets see what they tell me!!! i could really use this money…

Easy come, easy go; legislators agreed tonight to cut Bright Futures awards roughly 20% for next year…unless they change their minds! Tuition is going up too.
