<p>I like page 7 - interesting statistics about 'legacy' applicants.</p>

<p>Yes, there always has been a boost for legacy and the high yield rate may be part of the reason. However they might also have better than average stats as they come from college educated parents who would also have higher than average incomes both of which are associated with higher stats.</p>

<p>Also those with relatives who went to UW may have additional exposure to UW- either with trips or hearing about how wonderful it is.</p>
