If you are at the end of the group picking apartments, what is left? In other words, what campus fills up last?

Cook apts (Starkeys and Newells) are the last to get picked.
I think the apts cutoff might be a little lower this year too, because a lot of people did not think 1000+ would get them an apt because the year before 784 was the cutoff (with signbacks) For example, I had 2000 and I did not even try for the apts. I had friends in the 1000s that did not even try. This year I think everyone will be trying, so the cutoff should be lower.
Also, people who get a good low number would probably opt for suites or apts over the new science housing. Why? Because you have to do work if you live in the science building, i.e. attend lectures/discussions.
But koto does bring up a good point with people who qualified for a suite would actually wait to apply for an apt…thus more people are applying for apts and the apts cutoffs will be lower, but the suites cutoff I think might stay about the same…it never changed. Only apts were really affected by the no signback policy.

It never changed because everyone assumed they couldn’t get an apartment with their numbers, thus making suites the next best thing. That’s why I think the cutoff should be slightly higher, but there’s obviously no way to know.

so i have ~7200
what are my options, you think ill be forced off campus?

Do you have a friend in the same position? You can try for doubles and if you don’t make it, you will be put on a waiting list.

Lots of people will look for off-campus housing so that takes them off the potential wait list. Talk to your friends and see if anyone is looking for an extra single to fill up a suite or apartment group.

Also take a look at the Rutgers website off-campus housing page. I have seen several ads for singles or single rooms available. Check them out soon for the best selection. My friends’ son was deciding during spring break of last year and things were going quickly.

Does anyone know whether I might be competitive for a single if I have 63 credits and a number in the 5000s? I am inclined to doubt it because 5000s is pretty high, but I’ve had multiple people tell me to try. I’ve been trying to find past housing lottery cut off records to judge for myself, but I’ve only been finding the numbers of apartment cutoffs and such.

Thanks in advance!

My son tells me that singles are the most desirable situation so your number may be high, but it can’t hurt to try. They’ll let you know in about a week what the cutoff numbers are. They won’t know the range until after the application period is over.

Not including Easton and Rockoff - which apartments are hardest to get?

After Easton and Rockoff, I think Richardson fills up first, then Nichols, then Silvers, then the cook apts.

I got 5704. Do you think I have a shot of getting on CAC? I’m thinking waiting list?

Beast I think you may get a double or else get put at the top of the wait list. No one can be sure right now because the cutoff numbers change each year depending on the number of people applying and following through and then what they are choosing.

i’ll most likely end up in one of the busch apartments, and i was wondering how the noise level is. hopefully a little quieter than the dorms? :)

Anyone know if a 1500 will get us an apartment on Busch? Silvers preferably

No one knows for sure until the cutoffs are announced but that is a decent number.

At 1500 maybe you can still pick silvers, if not cook apts will still be open.

do you think that mid 3000s is good enough to get a double on college ave?

i heard that the suites cutoff this year was ~1300. in case anyone was curious

damn. i have a feeling apartment cutoffs are going to be much lower.

Why would they be lower?
Everyone usually wants suites.

apartment confirmation got delayed because of too many applications :(
