I realize the the standard fall 2011 freshman acceptance letters (for applicants who applied before the 12/15/10 deadline) will receive notification 3/15/11 - 3/31/11. I can not find anywhere what the process and timing is for transfer students THIS YEAR. Does anyone really know? I have already been accepted into WSU and WWU, but not a peep from the UW.
No "speculation" please, facts only. Thanks.

Here is some information I found online:

“Notification is a continuing process so we cannot give a specific date on which you will be notified.”

And here is a table that says June-July is when you will find out about the transfer decision.

Hope this helps!

speedsolver - Thanks, but that’s pretty UW lame. They have very specific and early info for freshman (who have no college experience) and nothing for Transfer students other than what you stated above. “June-July” - What the $#@! Makes one feel like Transfer students are 2nd class citizens when compared to freshman (UW perspective). Thanks for the quick response.

I talked to admissions yesterday as I am also waiting for my decision. They informed me that acceptance letters for transfers are being mailed out, but your program interest will not be mailed out until June. So, you can get into UW, but may not get admitted into the program to which you are applying for.

Did admissions say that was for summer or fall transfers???

The wait is killing me

I know, it feels like we’ve been waiting forever…

I don’t think they’re treating the transfers like crap…they have to figure out how many freshmen are going to enroll–including those accepted off the waitlist–before turning to transfer apps, I would guess. They’re just very careful about who they admit, which I think is a good thing…they take the time to make sure they get the most deserving applicants.

i have a stupid question, and i would like to hear any opinion.

i applied to uw seattle as fall transfer student. of course i haven’t hear anything back since the admission will be sending acceptance and rejections June-July.

today, noticed that the courses that are related to the major i applied to, are close for fall 2011. Can u explain to me please how could this happen? what about the transfer students?

Yea its lame but what can you do. gotta wait gotta wait. I havent applied yet actually and wont until July 2011 for fall 2011 good luck guys

@nana17, I have no answer to your question but I did the same thing the other day. I thought it might be fun to see what math courses (I am a math major) they are offering in the fall and lo and behold, they are all pretty much full. My hope is that they will open more seats for transfer students. Otherwise I am not sure what I will do.

weissekatze,

i don’t think they will open more seats for transfers. i think all the transfer applications are just to fill some gaps

@nana17: I am not sure that is true. UW has an agreement with the community colleges that states that a specific percentage of applicants will be accepted into the college, therefore there must be more seats. This is my hopeful reasoning at least. I was so hoping my 3.99 would get me in but if there is no space…

I shant think about it anymore. They will answer me in the near future and fretting won’t do me any good. Best of luck to you.

Ya unfortunately, transfers will get a bad selection of classes for fall, but for winter quarter and beyond we will have priority like all the other juniors (or sophmores!).
Are any of you fall transfers applying for on campus housing? That’s what I’m worried about even more than classes!

So… My unofficial transcript loaded… I have a student is number… Lists my class, school, and major. Thaaat… mean I’m in?

btlhard,

congrats. r u a fall transfer?

Thanks! Yep, fall. Foster uag.

A fall transfer loaded?

Yea I didn’t expect it either lol

Anyone else…?
