Anyone want to chance me?

Although my scores and GPA aren't awesome, my major thing is my EC's. Started LGBT club in high school and first one in county, President of Model United Nations club, tons and tons of chorus stuff, pretty much did every EC you can think of. 2 EC's in college as well
Also major health issues my high school years (hence low GPA), wrote about that in the additional section.
Had a summer job as a caretaker for my grandmother before she died- wrote about that for one of my essays.
Pretty good essays I think.
I know its a reach but just looking for some insight here!
Thanks!

Hello I am currently enrolled at a Community College in Virginia and I submitted my application to UVA (School of Nursing).
I will be graduating this May with my Associates.
Heres what its looking like for me.
GPA (College): 3.52.
GPA (High School): Yikes, 2.8.
Will graduate with 61 credits and all prereqs completed.
I am a non-traditional student (28 years old married to my hubby who is currently in the Comm school at UVA, and have a baby).
Phi Theta Kappa.
Mu Alpha Theta (Math Honor Society).
Great Essays. One describing my high school performance and my come back in college.
Not so great SAT scores BUT its been over 5 years and the lady over the phone (admissions) said not to worry about SAT scores so much.
Going through my last semester with a pretty rigorous load (A&P 2, Microbiology, Ethics, Computer Information Course required by CC, and Pilates)
Last semester (A&P 1, Chemistry, Statistics, and Public Speaking) you get the idea…
HMMM, what else? volunteered at Boys and Girls Club, Dean’s List, President’s Honor Roll. Work experience with the airlines and traveling internationally (might not count but at least is accounts for the time I took off).

I would greatly appreciate your opinion,

Thank you

Hi morena -

I am a nontrad student who transferred from a VA CC, too. Everything you have seems good - don’t worry about the SAT’s: it’s been long enough since you’ve been out of HS. Plus, you have a family & are taking really challenging courses (A&P, etc.) I can’t speak for the admissions people but when I spoke with one prior to my UVA app they did say they’d just like to know what you were doing in the time you weren’t in college - so I think it definitely does count you were working & having a family:)

Best of Luck!

Could i hear some feedback on my chances?

annakate i think you got a great chance! UVA is a great school… lol i go to GMU too, what are the odds? u live on campus? i’m over at pres. park

Paaquan, My dauighter is at Darden and likes the school very much. Have you also applied to Va Tech also? It is also an excellent engineering school. I’m not saying you will not get in to UVA but Tech is worth looking at for engineering. I also toured VCU and thought their engineering school was worth a look as well. Good luck, hope you get in to UVA.

Gary614, yes i also applied to VTech…I am hoping i will get into at least one of the schools lol
