Fall 2012 Admission Decisions

i’ll be there on the 26th.

I’ll be there as well

Hang in there marlon and fuzzy. I’m waiting too, so I know the feeling. Let’s not lose hope. It aint over till it’s over right? :)

@hiimafrican - mind sharing your stats?

@hiimafrican: Wow. And congrats, obviously.

@fauves: I’ve actually talked to the admissions office that told me that they would first evaluate the early decision applicants and then the international ones. So I’ll only be hearing about the decision on early-mid May. Think it’s a good oportunity to finish my 6000 pieces puzzle…

I’ll be there on the 26th also. Let’s get a drink!!!

It should be reminded that international applications can apply for Early Decision(future references).I submitted everything on the 27th Feb (ED) and heard from then on 17th April as an international student

@silverrock24: I know. I also applied as Early Application (online), but my documents arrived on the first week of March to their offices.

@ marlon, Thanks!
@ Fauves, sure

College GPA: 3.9/4.0
High School GPA:4.7/5.0
SAT: 1940
Awards/honors:Phi Theta Kappa
Major: Physics
Professional Experience/Accomplishments: Graduated high school young, became a programmer for 3 years (Eventually got to Project Manager)
Volunteer/Community service:Started a program in my community to teach Computer Science/Programming to anyone interested. President of Da Vinci Robotics Club

@hiimafrican: 3.9/4.0 College GPA? God, I’m screwed. That’s impossible to get in Portugal! And when I say impossible, I really mean impossible. I got 3.02 College GPA and I ended up in the top 3 of my class! Having a 3.2 College GPA in Portugal puts you in the honors’ display and you’re praised like a God. In fact, most of the college teachers in Portugal say (explicitly) that they won’t give you more than 3.2 at their classes, because the other grades are reserved to themselfs.

@ marlonfrancisco - Reporting your class rank will surely help in your case

Do you need to have a GAP year to apply to GS ?

Stat:
right after high school,
went to a junior college (community college)
then transferred to Syracuse University

I want to transfer to GS, but im hearing that you NEED a gap year. Is this true… ?

Read my other post in your thread. You are eligible to apply to Columbia College if you didn’t have a break in between your studies. You can apply for GS still, just write a compelling essay why you are choosing GS over CC.

I’M IN! Ahhhhhhhhhh, I can’t believe it! :)

Congrats Fuzzy, way to go! Mind sharing your stats with us? :)

Who had an interview? I had an in person interview this past week. I think I did poorly, so I am extremely paranoid :(

@Fuzzy how did you find out on a weekend?

I believe that FedEx delivers on Saturdays.

I can’t believe minutes after posting my comment I received a FED EX…I’m accepted…

If anyone sees me in the Fall, feel free to introduce yourself :)
