Fall 2013 Acceptance - Golden Four Appeal

<p>So I got my acceptance letter from CSUF today for fall 2013. That was FAST!!!!! Anyhow, because my CC is no longer holding a winter session, I wont complete my college math class until summer. (Remedial class needed in spring, planned to take winter!) </p>

<p>So, I was accepted and have a 3.8 GPA and all requirements done. But since my math wont be done by the spring 2013 deadline, I know I will be bounced out. I am appealing this asking for an exception since my academic history shows I do well in classes and I will pass the math class.</p>

<p>As anyone else appealed the Golden Four rule successfully? Thanks!</p>

<p>First of congrats on your acceptance! I’m glad to hear CSUF is on top of getting students accepted quickly. Now as far as appealing for golden four, before that happens have you looked into another close by CC that would offer a college level math before spring? Its only the fall now and I would hate to see you gamble your app by appealing for something that is extremely against your favor. Golden four is a must-have standard, similair to minimum GPA and 60/90 units. Best thing to do is to find a semester or quarter based CC and take that math class, if its just for golden four then take any that satisfies that area. Your options shouldn’t be too limited!</p>

<p>No. I’m already in as well. What is a golden four appeal? I’m an incoming freshman, I’m wondering if it applies to me.</p>

<p>ok so …I applied to Cal State Fullerton on October 26,2012 and I did hear from them. I was to create a portal ,but also I had to apply for EOP. I have created my Portal and successfully finished my EOP Questions and sent them in.Whats next for me is to send in my Semester 7Th Transcripts,and also to wait for my Recommenders to finish my recommendations. Fullerton wants the 7th sem Transcripts. I also applied to the following institutions:

  1. (Top) : Cal State University Fullerton
    2.( 2nd Top): Cal State University Los Angeles
    3.(3rd Choice): Cal State University Long Beach
  2. (Safety School): Cal State University Dominguez Hills
  3. ( Out Of State): Baylor University</p>

<p>Ok so I currently am at a GPA OF A : 2.80 ;however, do to the fact that I am taking college courses and receive credit it should increase</p>

<p>I kinda bombed the SAT : 1,100
,but I will retest in January><</p>

<p>I’m very worried about being accepted and being denied. I’m going to stay positive that I will get into a Cal state. Anyone feel the same way? And what steps do I have to take personally to reach my goals</p>

<p>I was accepted too, although frankly I doubted it at first since I got my response so early. But what’s a golden four appeal? I’ve never heard of it. Maybe its cause I got in as freshman?</p>

<p>The original poster is probably referring to a transfer into the CSU. There are basic class requirements and a minimum number of credits required to qualify for transfer.</p>

<p>Daughter was accepted via email last week for Television/Film program.</p>

<p>In California, not in their local area
GPA: 3.0/3.4
ACT: 27</p>

<p>My daughter was also accepted to CSUF as a flim/tv major…she is interested in TV production…we are waiting to hear from CSUN and CSULB…just denied at Chapman, but that was a long shot.</p>

<p>Congrats guys! I’m applying to Fullerton as well. If y’all don’t mind me asking, what are some of the transfer GPA’s? I’m applying to their art/animation department with a 2.87 (in state/area). Does anyone have any input on what they think my chances are?</p>

<p>I just got accepted into CSUF for Fall 2013 for First time Freshman! I am super excited! CSUF is my second choice though behind CSULB ! I am super excited! I am an out of state from New York, I had a 3.37 GPA for my highschool and a 3.85 GPA from the CSU calculator. I recieved a 24 on the ACT!</p>

<p>Has anyone received acceptance letters from CSULB, SDSU, UCSB, UCR, or UCI yet?</p>

<p>So they DO send letters if you haven’t finished all the golden 4 but you’re taking them?? They told me that they won’t send anything until I sent in my last transcripts. Weird.</p>

<p>When are we suppose to submit transcripts than?? before or after they send in an acceptance</p>

<p>@Socal29fan we won’t hear anything from SDSU until March, then we’ll be able to send transcripts only if we’ve been accepted.</p>

<p>@pkieu1o1 I’m not sure. They told me to send preliminary transcripts and I did but they claim they can’t make a decision until I pass my math class, which is bogus if you ask me. Especially since the OP is in the same situation I am in. If the OP got a decision shouldn’t we all be getting at least a preliminary one???</p>

<p>@pkieu1o1, To see when you need to turn in transcripts for CSU Fullerton, sign on to TitanOnline to Student Center Link, you’ll able to see it under “To Do List” link. I turned in my unofficial in early January and my Official ones 2 weeks after that.
For Long Beach, I only filled out Supplemental Application 3 weeks ago which was due Feb. 4th. They didn’t ask for transcripts yet.</p>

<p>No News for me too, I’ve been checking TitanOnlin daily.</p>
