Fall 2013 Acceptances?

Don't know if anyone has started an acceptance thread for Fall 2013 admissions, but S just got his first two acceptances today for classical voice - Westminster Choir College and Oklahoma City University.

Any other acceptances to report?

Congratulations! Its a great feeling to have those first acceptances, isn’t it?

Congratulations to your son, Megpmom!

I got accepted to Western Michigan academically, but I won’t know if I’m in the music program until late Feb. Congrats!

Congratulations! Oklahoma City University is a wonderful school; I strongly considered auditioning there. Hopefully I’ll have a few acceptances to report in a few months, but it’s too early to say.

SopranosGotPower - my daughter got accepted to WMU too and is auditioning in January. I’m guessing you’re a soprano - so is she! Good luck to you and maybe we’ll see you around sometime. :)

I posted this elsewhere, but my daughter (bassist/MuEd) has been accepted at U of Louisville Arts & Sciences and Honors College (will move to SoM after her audition if she is successful), Duquesne - Mary Pappart School of Music and Honors College and Tulane. She has a letter from Univ of Hartford saying she met all the academic criteria, but they don’t accept Hartt students until after a successful audition. That audition is tomorrow, so hopefully, she will hear soon after that. She has the same sort of letter from Shenandoah University, but that audition isn’t until January.

The rest of her auditions are in January and February, so it will be a while before we hear more.

Is your daughter a classical or jazz bassist? My son is studying jazz bass/music business at Hartt and loves it there.

I was just thinking that we were doing our first auditions this time last year.

Good luck to all who are auditioning tomorrow and safe travels!!! Congratulations on all the acceptances, too!

My daughter is both but as music end, she has to audition on classical. When we met with Nat Reeves a few weeks ago he encouraged her to apply and push for being able to do both MusEd and jazz. We are in Hartford at the Ramada right now. Audition is at ten in the morning.

Music ed, not music end… Autocorrect!

When son auditioned several years ago, Robert Black said that they could work something out with the jazz dept, classical and music ed since they would like to keep the students happy. Good luck!

OK folks. I see that the acceptances are starting. so will begin the annual Master Lists shortly. Meanwhile, congratulations to those reporting acceptances above.

SaxLady- No, I’m obviously an Alto II  I’m really excited! I think I’m auditioning in Feb (I’m too lazy to get my planner). Best of luck to your daughter too!

Hi - my daughter was accepted to Chapman and SMU in their conservatories. We have not heard from the academic side yet. She did get an acceptance from Baylor U. academics but we have yet to hear from the conservatory. Her audition at Baylor was just 2 weeks ago. Funny business this music major stuff ") We are enjoying the ride.
BTW she is a classical singer and has been in a conservatory arts magnet school for 5 years.

I wasn’t going to say anything yet because I don’t know about academics yet, but since OliviaMezzo shared, I will share that I have also been accepted to Catholic University of America and SMU’s music schools. Yay!

OliviaMezzo, please post over in the http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/music-major/1427644-master-list-music-school-acceptances-fall-2013-a.html</a> when any of those acceptances is complete. We would love to add your daughter to the list over there. Ditto for ImThinking. Good luck to both.

Yeah! SMU is first choice so we will see!
