thanks fy, best of luck to you too! I will call them tomorrow to see if I can mail unofficial for now since I don’t know how soon my other college will be able to set this right.

i guess ppl don’t use this website

i received a letter from GS saying my application is complete and it’s under review. i thought it’s complete 3 weeks ago though.

How cool, fy! Was it an actual letter or an email?

Does anyone know if it’s true that GS does not offer need based fin. aid?

it’s an email. that’s what i heard for fin aid, but didn’t confirm it.

That’s so thrilling! Best of luck! Hopefully I’ll be getting the same email soon.

Regarding the aid, I just confirmed on the GS website that it’s majorly merit based :(

I just realize how sad I am, because an “under review” email made my day:(

Why sad? It’s perfectly normal! I can’t wait for mine to arrive!!

because it doesn’t mean anything, it just means they are looking at your stuff… :)

true, but at least you know there are no missing items/problems and can be calm about that. For instance, since I attended high school outside of the US, they wanted my TOEFL results. However, because TOEFL is quite expensive to take, I convinced them to use my SAT results. This hasn’t been reflected on my application yet. So getting an email saying that my application is complete would be a great relief for me.

oh, then it is a big deal, now i don’t feel bad about myself thanks

no problem, definitely don’t feel bad! ;)

I wonder if most people have already received their “under review” emails. Still nothing for me…

Just called the admissions office, and the lady said that my file looks complete and I should be getting the email soon :)

sounds great, seems like the transcript thing didn’t slow down the app.

Yes, I think me sending the unofficial transcript helped.

anyone here got admitted?

hey guys,
I also applied to GS. Just wanted to say Hello. I am super excited and super nervous, either my CC didn’t send College transcripts or they are just not processed yet. I called and received a C# and “tracked my app” and apply for New Student Scholarship. However, I wasn’t able to log onto the financial aid page. My App has been submitted. However I did not have any test scores so I took the GSAE in NYC. I couldn’t really afford the trip but Columbia General Studies is more than just a school for me. Anyway, has anyone who applied for early action heard anything about acceptance or denial? IF so when did you submit? Also did anybody send in the $80 app fee with a check instead of paying online by credit card? I sent a check but as of yesterday, the money from that check was still in that account… Anyone else send a check that clear and was deposited/cashed?

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!

i’m confused about the financial aid page, i can log in but there is literally nothing there except phone numbers of different schools of columbia. does that mean i can’t log in?
@I8, may i ask why check? what happened to credit cards? anyway i doubt check would be a problem but might postpone your app.

fy2140!! If you can log in thus far, I believe you are accepted! But don’t take my word for it.

I8, I did not send a check, but I mailed a fee waiver request. When I wanted to check its status, they told me contact Damarais Villafana at dv2263 at columbia.edu. My guess would be that she might be handling the checks as well. Try sending her an email. Good luck!!
