Fall 2013 ED I Thread

Did you guys do an interview?

Massachusetts has a lot of applicants. I did an interview over the summer.

Hey, I’m an international from Pakistan. I have a SAT score of 1930. 710 in Math 710 in Writing and 510 in CR. I retook the test again in December solely to improve my CR score-will get the score a couple of days after trinity notifies me of their decision. Also I have 8A’s in my Olevels with a strong extracurriculars record. My essay, I feel, is really good. Do you think I stand a strong chance of getting in? And yeah I’ve asked for aid :(

Greetings from Vietnam!!! :D

hellohello95, are you applying to Trinity ED?

Yup, BamBam7! I wish we would all sail through this time so I can actually meet you guys in real life!!!

Trinity will be doing an on line post of Ed on Dec 14 at 7 Pm

hellohello95, I know what you mean. I am so scared for this Friday, I can’t believe its here already!!

Thanks drjafieldsphd, are you applying ed too?

Yes BamBam. I can’t believe that it’s 4 years since I first heard about Trinity and 2 years since I started the application process. All the tests, the papers, all the time devoted to the essay… all of them will be unforgettable memories that we will all remember when we get older, the result of this ED round notwithstanding. My sister has just graduated from this magnificent college and I am just obsessed with it :D. Hope that we will all make it!!!

Another International Student asking for aid:

GPA: 3.9
SAT:1300(composite)
Achievements:More than half a dozen achievements of national recognition
Extra-curricular: average/above average may be
Some valuable leadership positions
Community Service: 250+ hours
Personal Essay: May work very well or the exact opposite
Recommendations: Not lengthy but good; no teacher writes an average or bad recommendation

I think we all are in same boat. Distinguishing factor may be personal essay.Hope we all get in.

@hellohello95 : can you post your stats?

Hellohello95 that is great news to hear. Did your sister enjoy her time at Trinity?

Batuli, you sound like a great canidate as well! What country are you from?

@BamBam7: Yessssssssssss she did!! She said that being at Trinity was one of the best moments in a lifetime  I just fall in love with this institution already!

@Batuli: Ok. And where are you from, Batuli?
SAT: 1400 ( CR: 690, Maths: 710 )
TOEFL: 115
GPA: weighted, 9.5/10 ( Vietnam uses a different system so I think it’s better not to do any conversion =)) )
Academic achievements: 3 prizes in English Competition. ( 2 third place, 1 second place )
EC: class president for 12 years.
Community service: 1100+ ( yes, not seem legit but true )
Rec lets and PS are fine.
And I couldn’t agree more with Batuli that personal essay is our only tie-breaker!!

I am from Nepal. hellohello95 looks like a perfect candidate. I see nothing wrong with the academics and standardized test scores.

I just cannot wait for clock to tick 7.00 PM EST, December 14,2012.

BEST of LUCK Everyone!

From Nepal? My sister has a friend from there :D. She loves hanging out with him! She tells me a lot about him and how people from Nepal appear to her: smart (especially at Mathematics) and friendly. I really look forward to our all getting accepted!!
And yesssssssssss, I can’t wait for the decision day. It will be exactly at 7AM in Vietnam on Saturday morning (GMT+7). This nail-biting-feeling really gets on my nerve!!!

Mathematics: We nail it. I also have A* in mathematics and 780 in mathematics section of SAT; it is CR that lets us down. More importantly, I have applied trinity for the same major. I think you( hellohello95) will get in ,given your impressive stats.

It is so nice of you to say so. Wish us all best of luck!!
BTW, have any of you received the email regarding Financial Aid?

Hi, another International ED applicant. I got the financial aid email, but I can’t log in. Any other people having the same problem?

Yeah, I also got my financial aid email four days back. I had the same problem logging on. I asked them to reset my password and they did. Do contact the financial aid office.

@whatmorecanisay, which country are you from? Can you post your stats?
