I wonder why this hasn’t gotten more responses? Anyways, I submitted my application a few days ago (the 5th, I believe) and I still haven’t received my UM ID. I’m a little worried because I called and they said that although they’d received my high school and college transcripts, they couldn’t confirm receiving my GED results or letter of recommendation. The person on the phone mentioned that this might be because my application hadn’t been processed yet, and that once it has been processed the missing documents will “show up” in the system. In order for me to check on this, though, I need my ID.

So, anyone else have similar experiences or estimates on how long these things are supposed to take? I’m getting pretty antsy now that the deadline is drawing closer…

Alright, so I just received my UM ID. The admissions website had this to say:

“For freshmen, the status of all required materials will be be displayed under Credentials-Other Required Application Materials. For transfers, only those materials that we have not yet received will be displayed under Credentials-Other Required Application Materials.”

Except, I don’t see any section on Wolverine Access titled “Credentials”.

I’m applying as a current college freshman from Virginia.

Went to Virginia Tech first semester (3.23 Semester GPA), decided to go to community college spring semester to save money before likely going somewhere out of state.

High School GPA: 4.2 (weighted); Took 8 AP Classes

National Honor Society Member and played 4 years varsity baseball in high school
Lots of Volunteer hours and participated in a few other high school clubs

Any feedback would be great! Good luck to everyone applying!

I’m currently a freshman at MSU. I applied with 25 credits, 39 credits pending after winter term. I received a 4.0 my first semester. I got deferred and wait listed in high school with a 29 ACT and 3.8 GPA. Plenty of extra curriculars and community service in both high school and college. I plan on applying for Fall 2013, Winter 2014, and Fall 2014…until I get accepted! I want this so bad!

I am very interested in transferring to U-mich for fall 2013. My friend had told me that it was a rolling admission and applying now is just giving money away (application fee) since all the spots should of been taken. I was wondering if what he said was right?

^I seriously doubt that. I’m not even sure any admissions decisions for transfers have been made yet. The only thing I would be worried about is making sure all the documents get in before the deadline, since it’s only two weeks away and it can take a very long time to go through. Definitely still apply if you’re interested, though.

I’m a current college freshman who didn’t realize how wonderful Michigan is for what I want to do with my life–until it was too late to apply last year, of course. I currently go to Pitt.

State: New Jersey
High School GPA: 3.93 Unweighted, 4.62 Weighted
High School Rank: 3/325
SAT I: 2240 (760 Math/730 Reading/750 Writing)

High School Activities: Model UN (Officer), Afterschool Program Volunteer, Private Math Tutor, NHS, Spanish Honor Society, Supermarket Cashier, MS Walk Team
AP Scores: 5’s on 7 exams (Lang and Comp, U.S. History, Chemistry, Psychology, Calc BC, Micro, Macro )

College GPA: 4.0
Total Credits: 45 (14 at Pitt + 34 from APs - 3 from retaking Writing Seminar)
Activities: Model UN, College Libertarians, Actuarial Club, Mentor for Higher Achievement
Majors: Actuarial Math and Econ

I heard it’s hard for people to transfer in their sophomore year unless they could have gotten in as a first-year. I think I would have had a decent chance of getting in last year, but eh, I guess I’ll just have to see. So ticked I didn’t apply last year. -_-

thanks PKD for the response, my high school transcript was sent out today.

So on one part of the site I’ve read this for the required documents:

Completed application via The Common Application
final official secondary school record, including 9th through 12th grades, test data, and graduation date
official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions
Essays
application fee

So do I need faculty recommendations, midterm report, school report? If that’s all they need, I think the only thing I would be concerned about is my transcripts getting there. However I believe I can have my college transcript sent as an Edocument, which leaves just my high school transcript.

Also… I scored poorly on the SAT, can I not send it in? Since they don’t require it.

Does anyone know how much time it takes for things to get updated on Wolverine Access? Or is it just a crapshoot? My HS transcript got there pretty quickly, but my college transcript, which they accessed 1/4 as per my document tracker, still doesn’t show up on WA.

^I wouldn’t trust the “document tracker” unless you’ve called the admissions office and they’ve confirmed that they’ve received it. I got an email a month ago from the transcript request service saying that Michigan had confirmed receiving my high school transcripts, but in reality that hasn’t been the case. I even sent them again shortly after with no results.

I’m planning to get a sealed physical copy of my transcript and delivering to the admissions office in person if they don’t get it soon.

My boyfriend’s application. (Yes, I’m posting for him, don’t judge me :p) What do you guys think? He’s a first year (technically a junior at MSU) and he’ll have 60+ credits by the end of this year. I don’t know how that plays out in admissions.

College:
Michigan State, Computer Engineering
3.85 GPA
Freshman transferring with 67 credits (30+ AP credits, 14/15 credits first/second semester)
Not really any EC’s
Pretty good essays

High school:
3.6 GPA
30 ACT
Captain of high school Robotics team, tons of computer-related work experience, VP of Quiz Bowl and radio astronomy club

He’s so nervous and so am I I go to U of M currently and wish you all the best of luck! Go blue!

i think your boyfriend has an awesome chance. if he doesn’t get accepted for fall 2013, he will almost for sure be accepted for winter 2014 in my opinion. my boyfriend goes to u of m and i go to state so i know how you feel!

I got an email today from Michigan that had a bunch of transfer credit information, and started with the words “Congratulations on your transfer admission to the University of Michigan!” Except I never received any sort of “official” acceptance email from them… any idea what this means? I mean, obviously I’m taking it as a good sign, but technically it’s still not an acceptance. I don’t want to get all excited over nothing…
