Ugh today is no longer “early April” get yo **** together Michigan.

@Harzan, how do you know it can’t be today? Theres still a possibility that it could come today right? And who do you talk to when you call, an admissions rep or your admissions counselor?
@Maomix, right?? I’m gonna call admissions, this is ridiculous.

@RelSparty do it and let me know what happens. Just ask them when the last day we can expect a reply back is, because all I’ve been asking is when I can expect my admissions decision.

Okay, so double posting here, but I called today and the guy said we could be expecting responses until the end of the month. Ughhhhhhhhhhhh. Ain’t nobody got time for this.

Agreed! Don’t get me wrong, I will be immensely appreciative if I get in, but as we speak housing and classes are already getting ate up like Carter takes liver pills. I just don’t want to get stuck with an undesirable living location and a handful of incompetent professors if I do get in.

They’re definitely rolling out decisions in an odd way. I got my acceptance almost a month ago, and haven’t really heard from them since.

I applied on 1/14 and I still haven’t heard back. I do not have the time to wait this long. I’ve already registered for classes and put a deposit down on an apartment at my current university. What other choice do I have? If I had waited it out, I’d be SOL for living in both Ann Arbor and in my current town. Searching for a place in Ann Arbor this late in the game sounds like the biggest hassle. Even if I get accepted, I don’t see myself transferring. This whole process has left a sour taste in my mouth. Things may have been different had I received a response in February. Good luck to everyone else! I’ll report back if I get in.

Heard the same thing from admissions, not a good sign at all. Also, I think my admissions counselor is getting a little bit annoyed with me for asking so much. It really should not be taking this long though, you have some good points Parkerm1 and joesilvahhh. I don’t really know what to do at this point, theres only so much you can call and pester them. and every single admissions rep keeps saying ‘soon’ or within 1 to 2 weeks’. I’ve been hearing that since the last week of March. Not a good look, at all.

Yeah, I was told the same as everyone else. She told me the early April thing was more for incoming transfers and that they’re behind with all the applications. At this point I almost don’t care I just want a simple yes or no.

@RelSparty, I talked to an admissions representative. They said they haven’t made the decision yet and will hopefully be releasing them this week. By the sound of the rep’s tone, you could almost expect that it won’t be made today. I reaaaaaally need to find out soon, but I guess the long wait is because of the record number of applications they mentioned when I called. I’m still hoping that we’ll get our responses by this week. Again, good luck to all! And keep a positive spirit within you about all this :D

I was accepted via Wolverine Access around 4 PM earlier today to the College of Engineering for the Nuclear Engineering program. My stats are as follows:

College:
Michigan State University, Chemical Engineering
3.92 GPA
Junior transfer with approximately 50 credits
Tower Guard, AICHE, and various clubs/honor societies
I didn’t spend much time on the essays
No letters of recommendation

High School:
3.95 GPA
28 ACT
President of German Club, Track, NHS, GHS, Math Club, Marching Band, other generic high school things.

I expect that several people who applied to COE heard back today. I emailed them a few weeks ago, and they said they hoped to release decisions by mid-April. I was getting increasingly worried until I realized that the people who were being accepted into the COE were people with relatively large amount of credits. They must have just honestly been behind in reviewing and making decisions. I do not know if this is the case for LSA or not, but it could be.

Ugh I’m just so frustrated because they’re the ones who said that we should hear back in early april. I applied to a couple other schools who actually release decisions later, so I’m going to be waiting until June to hear back from the last one. I’m just furious that they’re being so shady with us. At least I knew going in that I would hear back from these ones later, and they also had later due dates (3/1 and 3/15) and I’ll probably hear back from the 3/15 probably before Michigan!! Ugh. This is just frustrating, I mean my app was complete on 2/13 and they told me I should hear back from anytime from the day I called to the beginning of April.

@dystopiaboy Congrats! I hope so; I’m just taking this as a bad sign.

i was accepted to LSA earlier tonight. i applied for economics major and application was complete on feb 5. good luck to all those who are still waiting, eventually the decision will come!

Hello all,

Just wanted to throw my input in there. I applied on 2/1 but had an issue with getting my high school transcript sent to UMich. I called last week and the UGA office referred me to the transfer counselor assigned to my case.

He called me and told me that the “Early April” deadline was for incoming freshman. What they’re telling transfer applicants is 6-8 weeks after they’ve received their total completed application. I thought this would be late February for me (because of my transcript situation) but it looks like that day was 3/12 (perhaps something to do with mid-winter reports?)

Anyway, this at least kept me from being so anxious. He also pointed out that just because we still haven’t heard back, doesn’t mean we were denied.

Congrats, rjk1012!

@elossia That’s a lot more insightful than what a lot of the Admissions reps have told me, but that means I should have heard back by now since 8 weeks is two months and my app was complete as of 2/13, maybe they’re running more behind than that because @rjk1012 just heard back and he had his submitted on 2/5.

These admissions counselors could be politicians the way they’re providing vague answers to specific questions. Called again and I was told that I should hear within the week. May 1st is the deadline to enroll at Michigan, so she said they want to let you know sometime soon before then. My application was marked complete on 2/13. Apparently my application has to go through the entire process again since they received my mid term report. It’s been three weeks since then. If I ever get in, I’m going to find out what this ‘holistic review process’ is, and why it takes so long.

@RelSparty Mine was also marked complete on 2/13 also, but I didn’t send in my Mid-Term reports, so I really don’t know what’s going on. I know for transfers they said early April, and then on Wednesday they said I should hear within a week (so by tomorrow), and when I called Monday the guy said within the month. Like we have to enroll by May 1st ***.
I’m just am so upset with how long everything is taking and how sketchy everyone is being. It’s really turning me off to this school as a whole, and U of M has been my dream school since I started looking at colleges when i lived in Arizona.

does anyone know what information is required to pay the enrollment deposit, for example, account number, bank name…??
i have to ask a relative of mine for info so i’d appreciate anyone who could lemme know which info is required

@RJK, Congrats! What are your stats? I’m applying as an econ major too.
