Anyone that submitted their app late january hear back yet?

So I found out today that the high school transcript I sent in two years ago when I applied senior year is missing a graduation date, and it’s been invalid this whole time. I would have never known had I not called. I sent in a new one this afternoon almost three weeks after the deadline. Awesome.

I applied on Jan. 31 and got accepted to LSA on Feb. 12.

I’m a 23 year-old transfer student who is working his way towards med school and will have an associates by the time I transfer. My HS GPA was something horrible like 2.8 and my ACT was just as bad at a composite 20. I went to a Kalamazoo CC for two years with a GPA of 3.4 and a Traverse City CC for one year with a GPA of 3.6ish. I also volunteer at a hospital ER once a week.

I was surprised by the decision. I had been checking the app site everyday because I sent all my documents around a week before the deadline and was sure something wouldn’t make it in time. I checked the night of Feb. 12 for the last time and it still said the only document they had received was my HS transcript, but there was a new “View Decision” button and the rest is history.

I’m now the owner of a umich.edu email and $200 lighter after the enrollment fee.

Good luck, everyone!

It says they recieved my HS transcript and College transcript on the 30th. It also says the dates of my SAT I exams so am I in the clear here? Super nervous cause it seems like people are starting to get decisions and I am waiting patiently

My daughter submitted her application on January 18th. Still waiting for an answer. She is currently at PSU. After this semester she will have 36.5 credits with a 3.8 GPA. High school IB diploma, GPA 3.4, ACT 29. She is applying to LSA. What do you guys think?

I submitted all of my materials a week before the deadline, and the actual common app on the 28th. Every time I check WA, under “other required materials” there is nothing. It shows that they have my ACT scores but nothing else shows. There are no dates or anything about transcripts and I am starting to get pretty worried. Considering it’s been 3 weeks now? If anyone knows how WA works, please let me know!

Don’t get too discouraged. I’m accepted and it still says they’ve only received my ACT and HS transcript.

Okay just an update, my transcripts were received the 30th and my application according to the admissions lady on the phone is in the que to be reviewed. She said that it takes 4-6 weeks from that date, so I will not receive a decision till late March. :(

Hello. Is there anyone who applied to School of Kinesiology and got the decision?

I submitted my application on 30th(would have done it way earlier had i known the recommendation letters/school forms were not required for transfers) , anyone know when my decision could possibly come? I hope not april…

Anyways, I was wondering if any of you admissions experts could give me my chances of getting accepted.

I’m currently a sophomore at UM-Dearborn
My college GPA: 3.96 (only 1 A-, 55 credits now 68 at end of this semester)
My High school GPA- 3.7 W
My ACT: 25
Extracurriculars:
Student government senator, college
SI(Supplemental instruction) Leader, college
Several other clubs on campus.
Volunteer for the Obama Campaign, 2008 and 2012
Volunteer at Oakwood Hospital, 250+ hours, high school/first year in college
Intern at non-profit civil rights organization, college
Link Leader/class treasurer in high school.

Also, does anyone no the difference between UMD an AA in regards to class difficulty, is it as massive as everyone makes it seem. I’m worried about my GPA falling if I do transfer, especially when i hear stories of 4.0 students at dearborn barely pulling 3.2s at Ann Arbor.

Draumo: When was your application submitted? My daughter’s application/transcript was received on 1/18 and we still haven’t heard.

@umich I’ll bet you’re in. I’ve been watching these forums for about 2 years, and you’re practically everything they’re looking for. A lot of credits and a solid GPA, nonetheless you’re applying from one of their satellite schools. Rest easy, you should get it an admission anytime from now to mid March.

I posted my stats a few weeks ago and no one chanced me! I would really appreciate it if I could get some input. I don’t have good HS stats and I only have 16 credits completed (taking 15 now) but I had a positive grade trend my last two years. I heard that Umich loves grade trend, and I am hoping that is true. I just really hope that I have at least some chance.

I have heard the same thing about positive grade trend.
Wondering now about the number of transfer credits - what is enough? My daughter will have 36. Does anyone know anything about this?

They state it right on their transfer website that there is no minimum credits needed to transfer, but they encourage you transfer as a junior(55+ credits).

@Altskier: I submitted my app on the day before the deadline 01/31. However, on Wolverine Access it said it wasn’t entered in until around 02/03. Like I said before, by the time I was accepted it still said they had only received my HS transcript and ACT. Both of which I’m sure were just tossed aside due to me transferring in with 60ish credits.

I got an e-mail today asking for my Mid-Term Report of current grades in my classes before they can make a final decision. I currently have a 3.47 GPA based on 46 credits (14 pending) at MSU, and was accepted for the current Winter '13 term with a 3.58 (I didn’t enroll due to being unable to move certain funds around in time for the semester, since I had already paid for my sophomore year before hearing of my acceptance). Right now, with the exception of organic chemistry II, I have a 4.0 in all of my classes (biology II, organic chemistry lab I, philosophy, screenwriting), whereas I have a 2.5 in organic II. As they are now, my current grades would bring my GPA to a 3.51, so I’m not sure if that’s what they’ll be looking for when I submit them in my Mid-Term Report.

Though I do look at it as somewhat of a positive, since they could’ve just flat-out rejected me if they felt my last semester’s grades were enough to change their minds on their initial decision.

@hamzawesome I got the same email last week. I am currently a freshman and got a 3.7 last semester at MSU. I think they sent it to me bc of the lack of credits, but I emailed an advisor and she said that once you get the form in, the turn around time on a decision is around a week.

Hey guys. I just got my rejection email today. not at all what I wanted to hear. I am extremely upset about it, but I won’t stop trying. Does Umich accept student halfway through the year? I believe I will move my application to the Winter 2014 Term. I am taking classes over the summer, so I am hoping to have around 38-40 credits by that time. I will be at 31 by the end of this year, and I am taking some summer classes. I will probably have about 55 pending by the time they make their decision. Ughhhh.

Not sure if I am staying at Western or if I should go to State since I was accepted last year. We’ll see. Wish me luck!

Just got in today!!!
I was horrible in H.S. 2.8 GPA, 20 ACT
College: Western Illinois University: 3.78 GPA
Michigan State University: 3.25 GPA
My grades fell, but I had a death in the family. I’m so excited to go to one of the best schools in the country. But I still have to hear from USC. If I don’t get in there, UMich is my backup school. But I would be extremely excited to get in regardless.
