Indeed, according to the admissions office, the usual indicator of success as a sophomore transfer is if you were admissible/close to admissible as a freshman candidate. So most people that didn’t get in as freshmen should probably apply as junior transfers. I wish you and your daughter the best of luck!

Got accepted yesterday… Not as excited as I thought I would be… Good luck to everyone still waiting :)))

Umich21, I am tempted to slap you with a wet noodle, my friend! Congratulations! If my son ever gets accepted I am going to do a happy dance, plaster Facebook with exclamation points and go on a major shopping spree to Wolverine Den.

Congratulations Corey! How many credits did you transfer with?

@villageMom lol I probably deserve that, but dont get me wrong I’m exicted just didn’t have the reaction I expected to have anyways thank you:) And good luck to your son I sincerely hope he gets in.

I talked to the admissions rep for the School of Kinesiology and she said decisions should be out in the next 1-2 weeks! best of luck!

Ohh kk. Thanks for asking Lakergang. Best luck for you too!! Please make a post here if you get the decision. I will post mine also.

@lakergang Is there an admissions rep for LSA?

Are the rest of us basically border line applicants left till the end?

@hopeforthebest94
I’m not sure honestly. LSA probably has a couple since they are one of the bigger schools.
@Toofast
I think we might be. It just depends on when you got your application completed and in.

@Lakergang Where did you get the info about the admin rep of the school of Kinesiology? The waiting is so torturing :-[

@hopeforthebest94
I went on the kinesiology website and found the admissions rep’s email and sent her one! She replied almost instantly.

@lakergang I can’t find that on LSA’s website Anyway, good luck and hope we will both be admitted :-)

Does anyone know how many credits is consider a sophomore transfer?

Do you think earlier acceptance for transfer (Winter '13) would help my chances for being admitted to Spring '13, for which I’ve already applied/submitted a Mid-Term Report? I was asked for the report apparently because my Fall 2012 grades were a bit lower than my freshman year but I sent in the Mid-Term Report with current grades in my classes. Not only were they better than my dissenting Fall grades but overall the GPA I would get from them is better than one of the two semesters that got me in for Winter originally, which were both referred to by an admissions rep. as “solid”. I know this is a lot to take in but any input would be of great help.

Does anyone have any idea when Transfers usually hear once all their materials are in?

Newtocollege, my son’s community college liason to UM said that it can take 8 to 10 weeks to hear back after UM receives all of your materials. I may or may not have gasped in despair. That would put my son at mid to late April.

For all those who are accepted? Anyone looking to possibly room next year?

@trumboma Yes, please! Although I haven’t been been accepted just yet, I’d love to start making arrangements.

@trumboma are you a guy or girl lol :)
