Fall 2013 transfer thread

I know it's a little early, but I've decided to start this thread for those applying for transfer admissions at Trinity. Please post your stats and chance me! Thanks!!!

I'm from Brazil. Do you guys think I stand any chances?

High School GPA:3.7
College GPA: 3.5 (actually, my college here in Brazil doesn't calculate a GPA but I tried to estimate one. My current average is 8.7 out of 10)
Major:Political Science
extra-curriculars: learning three languages on my own (German, Spanish and Italian)
Voluntary English Tutor
Research on "Politics and Human Rights''
ACT: 27
TOEFL ibt: 106 ( the perfect score is 120, and Trinity requires a minimum score of 100, and their average score is 105)
Excellent recommendations
The professor who reviewed my essay, told me it is very strong.

Awards: I was selected for a US embassy program on US History and Government for Brazilian student leaders at the University of Tennessee - Knoxville. It took place this year between january and february. It was a national level competition. The chances of being accepted was around 2%.

I've checked the website and Brazil is not on the "Countries Represented list". Do you think it would boost my chances if there isn't any Brazilian student at Trinity?

My EFC is near O (I need a lot of financial aid, that's why I'm worried I won't be admitted!)

anyone else applying?

I also applied to Union College. I’ve just checked my application status and was surprised to have my decision already posted! I was rejected! I was kinda’ expecting that because of my EFC of 0. :frowning:

Do you guys think I should keep my hopes up for Trinity or it is the end of the line for me? Thanks!

anyone? Please!!!

bump…

This is my last hope  I do need something more than LUCK because I need a lot FA

Hey sunshinejessi85, were you accepted somewhere else as a transfer? Are you international or American? Do you think I might have a shot at Trinity? Thanks and good luck! I know how stressful this whole process can be, especially now that we have nothing else to do but wait!

I’m from Vietnam but currently study in the US. (I went to high school in the US too)

I got accepted last year to several schools as freshman but I had to pay up to 50%. That’s why this year I take risk … just apply to those that give the most aids to Intl :3
Hard luck though

At first I was quite confident until I saw the Trinity freshman thread 2013. Many International have 30+ ACT + great EC’s (no doubt about their GPA right?) but still got rejected. And transfer rate, even though, is higher than most selective school but the number of transfer are small. I’m very scared. I really want to move up north. I just love the Northeastern area for no reason.

My Stat is just OK, not impressive…
GPA: College - 4.0; High School ~5.0 (out of 4 because of some AP’s)
OK EC’s, OK Rec (I hope)
ACT ~28
TOEFL ~100

Bottom line, Good luck to US all! @.@

Sorry, just one more question. Did Trinity send you an email with your ID number and a password to check your application status? Because I didn’t receive that. They just sent me an email saying that my transfer application is complete. I was just wondering if other applicants got their ID numbers to check their status or just an email like mine. Thanks!

No. I got the email saying my app was complete too. I don’t think they have a transfer portal. They might snail mail (or email) the decision. I don’t hope no more

I am still waiting but I have not heard anything. Very impatient and sad now. Has anyone heard anything from Trinity?

I haven’t heard anything yet either. I think the results will just come out in early June. A lot of fear and agony till there! I want to be hopeful but I can’t deny I’m scared to death. Trinity is my last chance to make my dream come true and I’m really looking forward to studying there. Good luck to everyone!!!

I am still waiting. I thought the result will be out in early June but what is going on???

Tell me about it! I can’t take this agony anymore. I’ve read somewhere that the results generally come out after the 10th. So I think next week we’ll all know about our fates! Still hoping for the best here.

I’ve just got my decision today. I was rejected!!! It’s so sad 'cause I wanted it so bad.
:frowning: It’s the end of the line for me. I’m a junior now in college so I can’t transfer to an American college anymore. I’m so sad and frustrated at my current college that I’m strongly considering dropping out. Good luck for those still waiting a decision and congratulations for those who got in. Trinity is an amazing college, you’ll love it there.

Hey. I am so sorry to hear that you didn’t get through.
Question, though - How did you hear? Did they e-mail you or did they send you a letter?

Thanks. I appreciate it!

The sent me an e-mail yesterday. I think they’ll only send letters for those accepted. So if you haven’t got your decision yet, chances are you’re accepted and will receive a response by mail. Btw are you intl or American? Did you apply for a lot of aid? Thanks!

Well, I haven’t received anything as of yet… so I hope that is good.
I am an international student and, yes, I did apply for A LOT of aid…
I see that you also applied to Union College. I did, too. I didn’t get in, though.

Thanks.
