Fall 2013 USC DECISIONS STATS ONLY THREAD Congratulations!

HardDay and other people who are starting to receive decisions- what does your USCConnect application status say?

^ I also want to know.

I’m sorry about your daughter. She actually sounds awesome and I’m confused why she didnt get in…I have no idea what a Trojan Transfer Plan is…like seriously.

Sorry for your daughter. Any school will be very fortunate and lucky to have her. :)

This is beginning to make me very nervous and worrisome. :(

HardDay, I’m terribly sorry.

I hope we can keep discussion/commiseration/congrats on other threads because it helps to keep this one thread free of questions/reactions and simply post stats.

To all: Please post decisions only on this official STATS thread. Thanks.

ACCEPTED TO MARSHALL (SPRING ADMIT)
will post full stats later

REMEMBER - STATS ONLY - NO DISCUSSION. Start a new thread for questions/comments. THANKS!

Here are instructions and a template you can use to help future generations of USC applicants!:

-Copy/paste all the text below from === to === into a new post (Do NOT include the ===)
-Delete the line that does not apply, i.e. Accepted or Rejected.
-Add your specifics on the X’s.
-PREVIEW POST to see how it looks before you submit. Instead of clicking “Post Reply,” choose “Go Advanced” so you can make adjustments before you post (believe me - I had to preview this several times before I got it right!!!)

General Comments, scholarship chances, status info, going to USC…?: I am extremely saddened by this rejection. I had a glimmer of hope that I was going to get in, at least into the university itself. I am thinking of appealing, but I am not quite sure what classifies as “compelling”. As of right now, Emerson College will probably be the school I will attend in the fall.

[] ACT: N/A
[] SAT Subject Tests: Japanese - 670
[] GPA-UW/W: 3.74/4.06
[] Rank: N/A (school doesn’t rank)
[]AP/IB classes: AP French (5), AP Studio Art, AP Calculus AB
[/ul]Subjective:[ul]
[] Essays: Good! I wrote about how one of my favorite cartoons shaped/parallels much of who I am today, so it was both related to my field of study and something that I feel best describes my personality.
[] Teacher Recs: Really good - each teacher was one that I’ve known all four years and (luckily) had in classes and EC’s that were relevant to my majors of choice. They all teach subjects that I’m good at and run clubs/exchanges that I’m heavily involved in.
[] Counselor Rec: Okay, she probably had good things to say but I didn’t have much of a relationship with her outside of the app process.
[] EC highlights: Created French club, French and Japanese exchange trips (traveled twice, hosted three times, did a lot of translation for the Japanese trip on both ends), Concordia Language Villages every summer (includes a month-long session for HS credit, as my school doesn’t offer Japanese), two pre-college courses at the Art Institute of Boston [/ul]
Location/Person:[ul]
[] State or Country: Massachusetts
[] School Type: Public
[] Ethnicity: Asian/White
[] Gender: Female[/ul]Other Factors, hook?: I have my art portfolio available online if anybody wants the link! It’s actually pretty standard, filled with drawings from observation and abstract paintings without much game-like material to speak of. I did take programming, web design, and 3-D graphics courses this year, so that probably made up for what my portfolio lacks in terms of this major. Also a NMSF, but USC has so many of those that I’m not sure it’s a huge factor.

General Comments, scholarship chances, status info, going to USC…?: Amazed that I got into such a highly ranked and selective program - was completely not expecting this! I’ll be going if I can get over the shock of a move from New England to SoCal! Feeling incredibly lucky right now.
