Has anyone received their acceptance into UTA yet? I expected something last week, but nothing. When does that normally happen. Applied on Aug 1st and am a auto-admit.

Did you apply to UTA or to UT-Austin? A big difference!

Applied to UT Austin. Sorry.

I applied on Sept. 7 as an auto-admit and I haven’t heard back yet.

Looking through old threads it seems last year the first round of notifications came around mid-November.

goodluck everyone!

Is the deadline for Fall 2014 admission, the 1st of March 2014?

The deadline is December 1st!

@Texaspride17,

What about for transfer students?

@whciv01, I received my admission today as an auto-admit, but they have yet to confirm my major. Hope you received yours too!

Texanpride, congratulations! What is your major may I ask? I just checked my S’s applicaiton, he received his admission as auto-admit too, but no major yet. Hopefully he will get in Engineering.

@summerrain2014, thank you very much! My first choice major is Petroleum Engineering. Hopefully we hear back soon.

For transfer students interested in attending Fall 2014 I believe the applications open up January 1st, 2014.

@franko5150, thank you so much!

When’s the deadline for international students? Is the admission cycle rolling? Meaning can I apply after the deadline? For cockrell?

I’m still waiting since I’m not an auto-admit. Has anyone else heard anything? I’m just anxious but I don’t really expect to hear anything until next year.

I was recently accepted to UT Austin as a non-automatic admit. I’m super pumped and excited, especially since I was also admitted to the Plan II Honors program.

For those who are curious, my SAT was a 1970 (it would have been a 2090 if UT superscored), took a rigorous course load, and had a 3.8 GPA unweighted, but I really think my essays and Essay S (a letter explaining my special circumstances) really helped me out.

I am a military brat and my dad recently retired from the Air Force, which necessitated a move during the summer of my sophomore year from Germany to Texas. It was a difficult transition to switch schools, but I made it! That was the topic of my special circumstances essay.

In my essays, I wrote extensively about my summers working at Boy Scout camps and some of the interesting lessons I learned from them. Two of the three ApplyTexas Essay prompts focused on adversity and working with a diverse group of people. If I had not worked so much with the Boy Scouts, I would have had NOTHING to write about. I wonder how my peers at the private school I currently attend fared with those essays…

For those who are curious, UT has a standardized internal admissions system used to evaluate non-automatic applicants. Each applicant is placed on a Personal Achievement Index graph (PAI) and an Academic Index graph(AI). The PAI is based on subjective factors such as socioeconomic status, essays, and race. The AI is based purely on grades and test scores. From those two graphs, the Admissions Committee looks at those two graphs and decided to either accept, waitlist, or reject the applicant (Texas residents receive a CAP offer of admission; only out-of-state applicants are actually denied).

If you put effort into your essays, make good grades, and have a decent SAT or ACT score, you’ll likely get in. If you’re in the top 7% or better (due to decrease in the coming years), you WILL get in.

Hook em’ Horns!

Got in McCombs OOS last night!

I checked this morning and am also in! Economics out of state. This feels really good.

Hook 'em and congrats to all of you! I’m a little surprised to see non auto-admits getting notified this soon. I’m still waiting. I would love to hear before the normal end of February response. I’ve got fingers crossed.
