Fall 2014 Acceptance

In-state admitted to McCombs! I was an auto-admit but being admitted to McCombs just popped up today for me.

If you submitted your application on or before October 15th, I believe they reviewed the applications earlier in the admissions cycle, hence the earlier-than-expected notification of admission statuses.

My friend who is in top 9% in state NOT AUTO ADMIT JUST GOT IN TODAY
34 on ACT and was the
25th/257 at RCHS. 9%
Also a 3.82 UW GPA
I think decisions will come out earlier now.

Accepted OOS for Cockrell!

@pranavA what was your major?

Accepted OOS to COLA! Submitted the application on 11/26, found out today. Amazed at the fast response!

My friend who is in top 9% in state got in a day ago too. Electrical Engineering applicant.

@kap124 EE as my first choice

OOS people: What states did you apply from and when did you send in the application? I’m from NJ and can’t wait to hear back!

I’m in Kansas and I think I sent mine around October 20th. I got in Saturday

Econ major (liberal arts)
In-state
Top 8.5% (65/755 ish)
3.75 GPA
34 ACT
Rigorous classwork all AP / Pre-AP)
Lots ECs / awards from band / clarinet (competitions, state qualifier, etc… as I am considering majoring in different schools with performance in music, but UT is not the right place for me for music.)
didn’t send a rec. letter.

Just out of curiosity, is it feasible to double-major for econ and mech. engineering? I am quite strong in math (Easily earned 99 in calculus AB, BC and 5 on AP exam) and strongly interested in engineering and as much as I am for economics. (A in Physics C with all of the Mechanic portions done) I am willing to take on some rigorous workload, but can someone give me a better idea of a workload / amount of classes to take? Much appreciated.

@caleber- is this the application itself or a completed application with transcripts, etc?

Does anyone know when the other honors such as natural science are coming out? Seems like the auto-admit majors came out last weekend.

Hey everyone,
I’m waiting for admission releases like everyone else. I’m an in state student who is not auto into UT Austin.
I’m in the top 11% batch of 1300 + students
SAT - 2190 -> 750M 730W 710CR
I have done a bunch of EC’s
Debate for all 4 years - State finalist for 2 years, state qualifier all 4 years
Tennis All 4 years - Varsity from sophomore year

NHS and other volunteering put together 250 + hours of volunteering
and more

I applied on Oct. 15 for the BHP (Business honors) program and the EHP (Engineering) and I haven’t gotten any response. I know BHP is a stretch for being non-auto but what are my chances of getting general admission into the school and getting into the EHP program.

Thanks

Also I’ve taken I think 7 ap exams (bc calc, world history, euro, us history, English human geo compsci . 5 on all of them cept 4 on compsci and I’m taking 7 ap’s this yr( physics c stat macro micro music theory Spanish English government )
800 on math 2 and 800 world history (sat subject tests)

Congrats to the ones that have been admitted so far.

Just this on the UT website.

The first round of acceptance notifications went out to prospective undergraduates in December, and we asked the new Longhorns to share their news online using #gonetotexas and #UT18. Their captivating messages display the joy, pride and anticipation of embarking on a life-altering journey.

Congratulations to our newest Longhorns, and welcome to Texas!

Got in to McCombs today! 2150 SAT, top 4.5% of my class, and a lot of leadership

Congrats catcat!

I heard several review applicants from our high school got admitted yesterday.
