I just called and they said my app is still under review. maybe because my TOEFL score arrived after deadline. (I was required to take TOEFL since English is not my first language but I didn’t apply as an international.) So… At this point, I don’t know what’s going on my app and how the result turns out to be. Just keep praying. good luck for all of us! :)

So i formally received my letter of rejection today. A very bland, “we are unable to offer you a seat…competition is high and we sometimes have to reject qualified candidates…etc etc”. It was dated for 10MAR2014 and I received it today and I’m in FL if anyone wants to know.

@TransferAppFIT I called and got some information on the non-degree route. the good news is i can actually take up to about half of the classes before I would HAVE to roll them over into a degree (read: i can apply for the spring and then i can still try again for the fall 2015). Alternatively I’m also doing a last ditch application to Berkely College, which a friend told me isn’t all that bad and they’ve been on an upward trajectory as of late. I’m still undecided of which I should go for because FIT is my DREAM school, but I would still feel some kind of way about walking the grounds from which I was once rejected. A friend that works in admissions for another school keeps urging me to write a letter of appeal, but i’m not even sure if there’s really time for it.

@phoebebuffay I thought it would have only helped my case and sort of balanced out my less than stellar high school grades, but apparently it wasn’t enough. Finding out was such a downer because last week I did a dress for success presentation for military spouses and was invited to speak at this area’s chamber of commerce and like three other places…and then i get this news.

@rollieee I’m praying you get in!! they told me flat out I didn’t get in so maybe that’s a good sign that yours is still under review.

do you guys think international students that live outside of the us will be receiving their mails soon, as well? I haven’t seen any international student that actually live outside of the us be accepted, yet … I’m applying for fashion design

@thercbray thanks a lot. You will get in eventually since FIT is your dream. It’s not my first time applying. I applied many years ago and got rejected. It’s been awhile for me to decide apply again ever since I got rejected but I ended up applying again since FIT is my dream as well. so don’t give up!!! so I wont! :)

@thercbray It is good news that you can take some of their classes that way your app will look even better when you apply and are you gonna go to Berkley college for the summer and take classes then apply to FIT for Spring? I might do that should I get rejected (still thinking positive lol) because August 1st will be here any day now and the Spring 2015 app will be up.

@ebs1995 we still have a week until April 1st, the acceptance letter may be there when you least expect it :)

@Rollieee I was rejected for Fall 2012 and eventually applied again and my app is still under review as well, best of luck to all of us who are awaiting a decision! :)

@limjuliana I’ve seen some. You can call the admission office and ask them if they have any tracking number for you since you live outside of US. They send out the packet by DHL for international applicants.

@TransferAppFIT thanks! I hope we’ll hear the good news soon. :)

@TransferAppFIT thanks! I hope we’ll hear the good news soon. :)

@rollieee do you think I should really call ? I was kinda afraid they would be mad at me for calling since lots of people are calling at the same time… I applied back in November, and it’s weird how some people applied one week before the deadline and have already received their letter… thanks for the response btw good luck !

@limjulian yea… they sounded like really really busy. they answered my question really quickly and hung up right away but you can still ask them if they send you a decision and have any tracking number for you. good luck to you too! :D

So I have applied for interior design and I’ve been contacted by the admission counselor for an updated transcript. I’m so scared. I hope I get in even though my g.p.a dropped a little.

@thercbray stay strong, I know rejection never feels good but maybe it means that “something” was missing from your application or who ever looked at your application didn’t do a good job. It’s like finding a job, you gotta keep trying until someone says yes. Never give up.

i’m so nervous guys :S I just looked at some portfolios posted on instagram/ blogs and I don’t think I’ll make it

@TransferAppFIT i’m hoping i can register for all the courses I wanted to take my first semester (i actually planned out all the classes I wanted to take for the entire program), if I cannot then I will go to Berkely and transfer. Hopefully you won’t have to do that and hopefully I’ll be able to get the classes I need/want and maybe we’ll even bump into each other around campus.

@Rollieee best wishes! I really hope you get in, too!! I know what it’s like to get that letter the first time, hopefully they will see that you’re passionate about this and took time to make yourself a more attractive candidate.

@todayisnow you’re very right! The crazy thing is that i’m so accustomed to the roles being reversed and me being in the position to choose if i want a job or not because i’m good at what i do, that it was so nerve racking and of course disheartening to see I didn’t make the cut. However, i think i’m going to take classes as a non degree student and try again next semester.

@thercbray Do they have a list of non degree courses and yes hopefully we can see each other around campus!

From my understanding you can take any class as long as you meet the requirements @TransferAppFIT

@thercbray Ohhhh ok wait what are the requirements?
