@letters95 Totally understand. I would refuse as well but no harm in trying.

@letters95 did you do anything outside the box/creative/risky in any of your transfer essays you think? I found mine to be all fairly academic and directed given the prompts but thinking maybe that was a mistake…?

@masqalree Maybe the admissions think we’re trading up the college name…that’s why we’re rejected

@delinquente WHere are you now?

@masqalree ND

@delinquente sorry, what is that?

notre dame lol

Rejected. Congrats to all those who got in, and good luck to the rest who didn’t.

@afghan00 which school are you from?

My essay was purely focused on academia. Not once did I mention my personal life such as family hardships or the social atmosphere at my current school. I go to BU btw. You don’t have to be from a peer school.

@letters95 Maybe for Wharton yes

@delinquente what kind of school are you referring to when you are saying peer school?

@KingofSweden did you get in?

Accepted…still in absolute shock. I was flat out rejected from Penn and my other top schools out of high school. It feels amazing to get in. Have yet to be able to view my financial aid award though. I know it sounds cliche, but for those who didn’t get in, you can’t take it too hard. The whole admissions process is so utterly unpredictable.

Accepted! Really excited about penn! Does anyone know if transfers can rush frats/graduate with Latin honors?

@ZaZa94 Why wouldn’t they be able to?

@masqalree well i wasn’t the one who mentioned peer schools but I think top 20??

Congrats to everyone who was accepted!

@delinquente I didn’t say that if you went to ND you were automatically accepted…

@masqalree I’m sorry you were not accepted to Penn either. You might as well try not being so bitter about Cornell, since it looks like you’ll be graduating there. I wasn’t implying that the admissions process isn’t holistic or that the essay does not matter. I’m simply saying that if there’s a kid from a peer school, or close to peer school, with the same grades and scores and a similar quality essay as a kid from a lower ranked school, chances are they’ll pick the kid from the better school. I’m not sure how making that statement shows low self-esteem and it isn’t really a justification for anything. I didn’t get accepted and that’s not a surprise to me. If anything it seems like you’re the one trying to justify something…

@william95 I didn’t say you said that if I went to ND then I would be automatically accepted lol I just thought I might have a slightly higher chance and was wondering what went wrong in my application

@delinquente chances are nothing went wrong, they just have a limited number of spots and they had tons of qualified applicants
