Fall 2014 Transfer Chances/Acceptances

Hey I'm starting this tread for any transfers for the fall of 2014 to talk about if they got accepted or not and what their stats were. I'm applying to be a bio major at NEU, I have a 3.3 from Hofstra University but my GPA is in the upswing (3.7 last semester while taking orgo and physics). I'm a bio major at Hofstra and have a research paper on its way to becoming published. I'm a member of the red cross, founder of a different volunteer organization and dance team on campus. I have been working at an office on campus and a retail store since freshman year and I wrote that in my application. I think my personal essay was phenomenal and I also think i had a good letter of recommendation from one of my biology professors. My SAT scores were a 1310/1600, ACT scores were a 27 composite. What do you guys think are my chances of getting accepted?

Good Luck to everyone!

How long have you been waiting until receiving applicants link?

What college are you applying from @dzharkov ?

@hofstra Suffolk U, MA. I still can’t understand. If i applied at the end of march, may i still be considered for scholarships. I already texted to the finical aid office, but they haven’t responded. Their web site doesn’t have information about scholarships for transfer students from the Universities fund.

@hofstra I am sure you will get in. 90% who has 3.5+ will be accepted.

Yeah I had emailed the financial aid office about it too, but they didn’t reply. I’m assuming they are just gonna wait till decisions are made and then address those issues. I have a friend that transferred to northeastern last year and he applied around the same time (early/mid march) and he got a scholarship so im assuming all transfers do depending on merit and need. But it may not be as great as say we were applying to be freshman. And hopefully your right @dzharkov, guess well find out about decisions soon enough.

@hofstra However, i don’t know if i have any cons in my statistics, i think i am good enough to her not only to Northeastern but to Honors program.

I am Russian and i am a green card holder as well. According to several events of the last year, It might be a big disadvantage. I am not sure how it will affect.

Hopefully, Northeastern is not going to delay the decisions. I am tired of waiting
