I applied in early February and am wondering if anyone has an idea of when I might hear back. Or what is the average amount of time it takes for a response? I am an out of state transfer student. Thanks!

If you aren’t applying near a deadline, you tend to have to wait 8-12 weeks for a response. That’s especially true if you’re applying for a later semester.

Keep in mind, admissions just got done going through all of their freshman applications (decisions went out only a couple weeks ago). I’m betting that transfers really weren’t high on their priority list until they finalized the freshman decisions. You’ll also have to have the department that houses your intended major look over everything and give the okay as well. Depending on your department and how many people are applying for your major (and whether it’s limited access or not), it could take a while.

That said, you should hear something within the next few weeks. And it doesn’t ever hurt to contact the admissions office and ask if there’s something holding up your application. You never know if there’s some paperwork or something that they haven’t received that might be holding up your application.
