there is a scholarship application deadline is april 1st for all non texas exes scholarships. texas exes scholarships deadline is march 1. they are all on the same application. Can be found at http://www.texasscholarships.org/apply/continuing/CSA.html i would recommend filling out fafsa in addition to this scholarship apps

thanks

Just submitted my application along with my essays! Transcript is on the way, and I need my application to be processed before I can upload my resume! So nervous and so excited! Time to fill out financial aid!

Good luck everyone!

I have no rec letters, will they consider it if i send rec letters after the deadline?

SOMEONE KNOWLEDGABLE PLEASE HELP! okay at the beginning of the week my app was complete, and i know that i have over 30 hours of transferrable coursework for COLA which was my first and second choice major. on monday i changed my second choice major to something in natural science and now my status says i don’t have 30 hours of coursework?! i’m wondering if this is just a coincidence (as in i really don’t have the hours i know i do) or if it says i don’t have the 30 hours because natural science requires a calculus credit which i do not have. if it is the latter, i changed my second choice back to COLA but i’m scared if it is because i changed to natural science that they won’t update my info before saturday and that i’ll be stuck until june. please please please help.

call them

I think i made a mistake on my application, does anyone know if they’ll let me fix it before the deadline?

Yeah you will be able to fix it. They won’t really penalize you if you are late^. You normally get a week to fix any issues.

Quick question, on my transcript it really only says I have earned 17 hours from my semester 1 but I have AP credits as well. Do I just put the 17 hours?

If I am currently taking Calculus 2, do I meet the Calculus Readiness requirement, or will my admission decision be deferred until I have successfully passed the class?

@Korsgaard How do your AP credits appear on your college transcript?
For my 1st semester @ college, I had my AP credits also entered as total credits for the semester on my transcript. I would put it how it appears on your transcript. Not sure though. Hope this helps.

for my AP credits i got credit for it at my current institution so UT calculated those hours into my total number of hours thus far

@Rice Basically, it says I have 17 credit hours from my first semester and it factors in those credit hours into my GPA. Then, it shows the AP credits but it does not factor them into my hours.

@Korsgaard you still got one more day. Call tomorrow and ask them.

PS: Does anyone know if UT requires transfers to be enrolled in at least one class during the year prior to the semester that you apply for UT? I sent all my transcripts like 2 weeks ago and it says they’re still waiting for my Fall 2013 grades wth? I took the past year off by the way, wondering if that’s why and whether it’ll hurt my chances !? Starting freak out a bit.

@Rice I don’t think they require it
Ugh the phone line is busy :(.

Apparently the grace period for transcripts for me ends on March third. i e-mailed like two admissions counselors and none has replied. @-)

Hey do any of y’all know the average GPA you need for each college? I remember seeing it awhile back but now I can not find it.

I’ve been struggling a lot with my course load this semester (took too many hours and decided to work full time) and I just want to make sure my GPA will still be good enough. :-/

@Saborak for both liberal arts and CNS i was told it was 3.6. when I called the admissions.

I really need help with the fee waiver. They require me to upload a financial aid award letter but I have no idea what it is. I go to Houston Community College and receive both pell grant and texas grant, however I do not recall receiving any letter like that. I dig through my email from last year but there is no hope. Do you guys know if I can just print out my financial aid information from my HCC account website and then upload it?
