Fall 2014 Transfer Thread

Finished the application. I’m pretty sure I will have to appeal tho :(

Does anyone know the average GPA for Undergraduate Studies admits??

Question! I have a 3.75 gpa right now, but I’m afraid it might drop down to a 3.6 because I’ve had some personal issues this semester and I’m behind in my classes right now.

If I got accepted into UT, am I required to send a final transcript after my acceptance? I have over 30 hours, I’m at 40 right now with 11 more in progress.

If I do send in a final transcript would they revoke my acceptance if my gpa dropped?

I can tell you for sure that you need to submit another transcript because they need to see what classes you took and how many more hours you get credit for. I highly doubt they would rescind your admission unless your gpa dropped dramatically.

@Korsgaard I think I will too.
@-)

hey guys! so i have made a huge mistakeeee.

so i waited to the last minute to send in my application so basically last night. but after i sent it it says it takes 2 working days to be processed so am i late? AND BECAUSE OF THAT, i also cannot upload my resume because there is no application on file so basically EVERYTHING is late! is there some sort of grace period? ALSO!!! (ik…this is sooo bad…i take full responsibility) I tried sending an electronic transcript to ut ages ago and it said it delivered but last night I went online and they only accept certain forms of a transcript. Just via electronically does not count so therefore I had to mail it last night. Obviously if i am mailing it last night it is not getting there until next week. So basically my whole application is just late…does that affect anything

MORE INFO: I still am in the progress of completing my 30 hrs so I still have to send in my spring grades when i receive them in may. Does this help me in any way since they wouldnt even look at my application till then? =[[[[[[[[[[ this is just sooooooo bad.

@saammmaay there is a 7 day grace period for online stuff it (next Friday the seventh). I was told the grace period for transcripts for me was Monday the third. Call them asap, if you can, go to the admissions on Monday with all of your stuff and turn them in. There is always the option to appeal.

@rice00princess okay thank you! mind you, did you call them to ask for this information? I have read on multiple forums that if they do not have all the materials by the deadline then your application will just not be considered. But that is just what I read. Their office is closed on weekends which further makes me even more anxious cuz I am just totally in the dark.

I dont think my transcript is going to be there monday =[ more like middle of next week. oh well…

Well, as far as I know, if you applied on the deadline or just before the deadline. http://bealonghorn.utexas.edu/transfer/admission/requirements</a>
About the transcripts, that what I was told on Friday when I called.

I was freak out just like you did yesterday but after like 4 hours my application finally appear on the my status page. I have upload all of my transcript, resume, green card, recommendation letters and fee waiver documents. They are still in “waiting for review”, so I’m not sure what would happen to my application if they found an issue with my document after the deadline though. I’m worry right now cause they asked for a financial award letter in order for me to get the fee waiver which I have no idea what it is, I just upload whatever I found that sounds like it.

Guys don’t worry!

“Applicants aren’t able to use the document upload system until we receive their ApplyTexas application—and that can take a couple of days after submission. If you submit your 2014 summer/fall ApplyTexas transfer application immediately before or on the deadline, we will consider uploaded items on time if submitted through March 7.”

http://bealonghorn.utexas.edu/transfer/admission/requirements</a></p>

So you can even turn your application in at 11.58 tonight and it will be considered on time and you will have until Friday to send everything electronically.

I submitted my application through ApplyTexas at around 4 in the morning on Thursday, and I got an email from them by Thursday night that they had received my application, so it takes about a full business day. If you submit it later in the day it probably won’t get processed until the next day.

You guys check your my status, It’ll say whether you fall within the grace period. Mine does. Right after it says your Fall application for transfer admission.

This shows the number of transfer applicants compared to those accepted for fall 2013. I know I saw the average GPA of the transfer students going into the schools, but I cannot recall all of them. I know business was a 3.8 average, so was engineering I believe. Fine arts was around a 3.4, liberal arts 3.5-3.6.

http://bealonghorn.utexas.edu/counselors/jcc/transfer-times/spring2014</a></p>

Can someone also chance me?

Previous school: Richland CC
Credit Hours: 47
GPA: 4.0
Major: International Relations and Global Studies (COLA)
Strong EC’s in High School, only 40 CS hours.
Essays: Decent, Topic E essay was not my best work- rushed
Recommendations: 2 strong letters- one from my english 1302 prof (UT Grad), another from my boss at my part time job.

Although I have 47 credits, I am still only in my second semester of CC. I got 30+ credits from AP credits from High School so even though I graduated from high school June 2013, I am currently considered a sophomore in CC. My 4.0 GPA is only from last semester classes so I wonder if that will impact me negatively?

And one last thing… When I was a junior in HS, a part of my english class requirement was to make a UT EID to fill out a practice application. Since I already have a UT EID, will it automatically match it to my application? Or do I need to email the office of admissions and let them know? I sent all my transcripts, resume, and letters through the mail so I did not submit anything online except for the actual app and essays.

@Rangers32 You have a solid chance! Great GPA, great rec letters, and with a 4.0 you should be set for COLA!
If you put your uteid on everything yes it will be matched, just sign back on and retrieve your old information. I had an old uteid from high school as well.

Chance me?

GPA: 3.75
Credit Hours: 40 (11 more in progress)
Major: Public Health in CNS and Government in COLA as my second choice.
I have not taken Calculus yet! This has me very nervous.
Essays: I’d say their strong. My issue of importance I feel especially good about, it’s definitely different.
My recommendation letter fell through.
I’m at a community college right now.
I hold a leadership position in an organization I’ve been a part of for five years.
I’ve worked three part time jobs since my Junior year of high school.

Chance me? I’m so nervous I turned in my application days ago.

I think you have a good chance as well! This is of course my opinion only, coming from the info and stats i’ve taken in from the UT Website for months now. Your work and organization involvement should also help in showing you are a dedicated student. Keep the thread updated for sure!

I also have a question. I double checked my advising report and I mistakenly miscounted the total number of credits I have. On the apply texas app, I put 47 total credits, when it is really 44. I counted one class too many. So how can I fix it? Should I email, call, or wait to get the email that they received my application?

I would wait until they receive it, because you can’t fix it if they don’t have it yet. Then I would call them and tell them you made an error. It shouldn’t count against you because you turned it in on the deadline, just tell them you miscounted your credits. I’m not too sure how the rest of the correcting an application after you turned it in process goes, but I’m sure you can call them and they will guide you on what to do.

Is there any of you have your application status “Completed” on my status page yet?

Do not worry about if your stuff doesn’t arrive on the 1st. Just make sure it gets there around the 7th. Colleges are very lenient with this.

Does the resume fall into the week grace period thing? I turned in my resume already, just waiting on the email with the UTIED. Rec letters?

And I’m curious, but “When the published deadline falls on a weekend, the ApplyTexas application remains open until midnight (Central time) on the following Monday.”
Does that apply to this year’s transfer application?
