Anybody know if you can change your second choice major once in review? If so, does it delay the process?

Thanks @Wombar! I’m just so nervous because I have a 3.75 right now, and I felt SO confident and now I’m just like ._.

@MeGYuan don’t get down, from what I’ve seen the GPA standards for Cockrell have lowered a bit, and Civil is an easier major to get into. You got this!!

I want to change my second major to COLA undeclared, but I’m scared it will mess everything up. I’m nervous UGS will cap before I get reviewed :/

@Saborak i feel bad to ask you, but do you know the average gpa for cockrell? thanks :D

@MeGYuan from past transfer periods the Average GPA has been 3.83+, but from what I’ve seen this time around it looks to have dropped to about 3.7ish…

@Saborak thank you, i think i still have a shot, plus no civil engineering major posted on this thread yet, just assume they’re not handing out the decisions yet

IS PHILOSOPHY A HARD MAJOR TO GET IN IN COLA ??? Please let me know your thoughts.

Not that I am aware of, the only competitive majors that I know of are: Psychology, Economics, Anthro, English, and Kinesiology.

Yeah I want to change my second major to something in CNS but not if it means it gets sent to the back of the stack

What do you currently have as your 2nd major? @want2engr

cheme

For those wanting to change majors, you do get the opportunity to do so once you get admitted. I do not know how the process works but I did see the option there when I got admitted a few days go.

Congrats to everyone who has reviewed their acceptances the past few days! :)

@want2engr I changed both my first and second majors… But I kept them within the same school. This is the message I got:

“Major change request: We received your major-change request and will consider it if space opens up in the major you’ve requested. An update about your request will appear here once it’s made. Your current requested majors are Nutrition, Entry-Level and Liberal Arts, undeclared.”

If you want to change it, change it but only if you’re sure you have to. I changed my first choice from Public Health to Nutrition because I found new information saying students will only be admitted into Public Health if they have all of their sciences done, which I do not. Nutrition had no guidelines in place so I changed it to better my chances. :)

I hope that helps… :(

Do you think it will mess up our chances??

Do you think the admissions committee will keep posting admissions decisions on my status until later today?

@rice00princess i sincerely doubt it. could be totally wrong though. i think the next large wave of admissions will be friday or saturday based on past trends.

Ahh thank you, I guess I will just have to patiently wait for a decision then

@rice00princess, they may not be posting it but mystatus needs time to update decisions. So you could still find out

@want2engr Did you apply for TAMU? I applied there for biochem and I think I saw your name on the transfer thread. If so, did you make it in?

They postponed me til after spring grades
