Fall 2014 Transfer Thread

I have a question regarding the 30 hour requirement. If my 30 hours is still in progress, will I receive an admissions decision prior to the end of this semester? Or do I have to wait until I submit the updated transcript at the end of the semester for a decision?

@jjyoon36 You will have to wait until they receive your final transcript with all 30 hours completed.

Is their anyone out there who goes to UT who would like to look over my essay A and E, and my resume? It would be extremely helpful to me! Applications are due literally in less than a month DX

Please answer my question,

If I take the CLEP calc and send the admissions my scores, will they look at it at all when they’re making a decision? I am not enrolled in any college right now and plan to take calc 2 in the summer at ACC, i am hoping to get into CNS

I would really appreciate it if someone gave me some feedback.

If I receive all "A"s in my courses this semester, I will have a GPA of 3.6129

Thanks in advance!

I will be answering questions this weekend hopefully! My semester is really hectic and busy, I apologize! Don’t worry, I haven’t forgotten!

@DeeGeeerbear I have not gotten a clear answer on this and I hope you will be able to answer it.

So i was wondering how admissions views a Second Choice major. Do they assess both majors in the same manner? For example, I have heard that a school might take someone that picked them as their first choice over someone that is slightly more qualified that chose the school as their second choice.

Also, my other question is how does admissions view an application that has 30 hours in progress? I feel as though this is the case for most freshmen applying for transfer. Like when they finally review the application when one sends their spring transcript showing the rest of the 30 hours of coursework, will the fact that they are reviewing the application so far past deadline affect their decision? If so by to what extent?

Thank you so much!

I’m from Sugar Land, TX so I’d be in-state but I’ve transferred twice already & wasn’t sure how much info was needed so I’ll post both years. And not sure if this is relevant at all when they look at applications but I am an Asian female. Let me know if I’m missing any info.

question: i have over 30 hours and a 3.79 GPA… any estimate on when i should hear back? or anyone with over 30 hours? thanks y’all

From looking at the past threads, people above 30 hours seem to hear back around mid to late April. People with less than 30 hours that send in spring grades anywhere from late May to June.
